How does that makes sense? Had you been employed with an honest-to-god business, you wouldn't be paid with taxpayers dollars. I take it you never took an economics or finance course. lol!
You're just trying to explain away and backtrack the undeniable fact you have sucking on the government teet, paid for by actual hard-working people, for most of your life.
Dim, you aren't very bright are you? Reading is fundamental, and I would suggest that you try it sometime. Working at the post office is very hard work, that someone like you sitting on topix all day long, obviously isn't doing. Is posting on topix the work you do, or are the taxpayers supporting your unemployment, if you are intelligent enough to have ever held a job? Honest to god business, you are dense!

I agree, It's just a matter of what group of people they choose to lie to. I'm working through some of Kenny's ideology, but I need to work it into a realistic, achievable model, in my own mind.
Like yourself I can't support either side of the duopoly as a whole.
A viable third party will need a near perfect message to ever garner enough public support to ever take hold.
We the people will have to refine that message and then push it through. I'm encouraged by what I read on this forum because in the end I think we are more alike than our government would like to believe. We have to resist being manipulated and we have to resist being divided.
Right. It will have to be grassroots. What we need is someone who will take the good ideas from each faction, through out the bad, resist the petty bickering, moderate the two ships of fools, and bring accountability back to Washington. Someone who actually represent the interests of the country, not their special interests. They're already out there, you just don't get to hear their voices due to money. They don't buy ad time on the networks, so the networks won't invite them to talk, and the debate commission is an utter farce and is only in place to further perpetuate the duopoly agenda.

This is all I have ever tried to bring to light, then partisan lapdogs like lips on a zipper have to get on here and make it personal....to which I will ALWAYS respond. ALWAYS.

<quoted text> Nit, don't you suppose that the income tax that I personally have paid to the IRS for the last 40 years more than covered any previous contributions that the postal service got from the taxpayer? Weren't you the one admonishing someone is on the draw with a pension from our government, teat correct? Yes Nit, I still make enough money to pay taxes, although my contribution to my pension is written off on a yearly basis. Try explaining all this to your brother Dim, because he is looking more dense with each and every post he regurgitates.
Good, you paid some taxes, so do I, and a lot of others. Still doesn't change what I said as being truth.....how much OASDI you pay out? We can nickle and dime all day long, the fact is, your two parties are interested in WAY TOO MUCH government, and WAY TOO MUCH lobbying, special interest monies, and that legalized bribery known as "campaign contribution"....and they do all of this on our dime. Ive never said you didn't work, but if your federal government job blinds you to these facts I just stated, there really is no hope for you. If you think that either party will fix these things, there REALLY is no hope.....

Oh, and for what it's worth Zip....I'm not on here all day, I have topix mobile on my phone, it tracks my threads and alerts me when someone posts to them. It only takes a couple minutes to reply....unless I'm looking up links and stuff, then I'm on the computer and we are slow. Have you seen the weather lately, we are slow. Don't worry, I will more than make up for it this summer....working 50-60 hour weeks and getting paid for 40 hours on salary. You don't catch much grief around here for goofing off a little in the winter when you make the bulk of the company's money in an 8-9 month span. I will even be working Sundays this spring on an upcoming project.....there will be some 7 day work weeks, nights, and days.....all for the safety of the public.

Nit, I've never seen you regurgitate any plan to fix anything. Throwing out the duopoly isn't a plan, and if you think your grass roots charade will ever work without the money to compete, you are naive as I state frequently. If and when that might ever happen, I'll be dead and gone and it will matter not when anarchy prevails.

Yes, you have. Eliminate corporate campaign donations, limit private donations, eliminate the lobby, bring back industrial hemp and use to ease the petroleum burden among its many other uses, trim waste, drug test welfare recipients, education vouchers for all students that are only redeemable at colleges, trade schools, vo tech, etc, do away with the debate commission...or at least put other parties on it so they are heard too, drop the fuel price to at $2.25/ gal and watch the economy straighten itself out (but you have to do away with the legalized bribery and lobby FIRST), decriminalize drugs and end "the war on them" and thus save tax money TWO FOLD, quit policing the world, quit giving all of this foreign aid when people are starving here, re-impose FAIR trade tariffs on countries that do not paying living wages, reward businesses who trade here and PRODUCE here, penalize those who do not practice this, seize these offshore accounts set up to evade taxes, shut down these one phone offices in Switzerland to evade taxes and make them straighten up or get out, get out of the Middle East altogether while keeping the eye in the sky on them, tax Wall Street and actually send the thieves that are there to prison.....for a long time, no more bailouts to crooked banks.......you want anymore?

You say "money to compete" and I say that's the g***amn problem....MONEY. That's all your duopoly cares about. If you think they care about us, well.......maybe you should reconsider who's naive.

....oh, and term limits, term limits, term limits, term limits......did I mention term limits?

Also, no more lifetime salaries for politicians, no more lifetime secret service, no more Cadillac healthcare.....make them retire on Social Security and 401k's, and Medicare. See how fast that mess gets straightened out!

So, just exactly what do you disagree with? The $2.25 or lower gas? Term limits? Eliminating corruption through the legalized bribery that goes on now? Why don't you address the issues, can you be specific? Do you like companies sending jobs overseas? You like using offshore accounts to avoid taxes? You don't like training high school seniors into employability? You don't think using hemp for lubricants, plastics, binders, textiles, construction materials, etc. is a good idea? I thought you were "green". Just what in my paragraph was good, and what is bad?

Nit, I'm sure you know that Mitch McConnell (or his caucus) would filibuster any attempts to fix what ails the country. I get to watch C-Span quite often, and many of your proposals have already been tried by the Democrats in the Senate. Healthcare legislation, and the stimulus package (tax savings) were passed, and it took so long to get it through Republican obstruction, that many Democratic tax plans for cutting corporate loopholes and ending tax subsidies for big oil, etc. have been dashed for the moment. I'm quite sure John Boehner would have nothing to do with you proposals either. If the Republican obstruction continues they will be swept from their majority in the House in 2014, and many of your proposals will come to fruition. They (the Democrats) are your only hope.

Agree, and disagree. Mitch is a ghoul. I don't believe the Dems are all that either. None of them are proposing my last post....term limits, no lifetime salary, healthcare, or secret service. If they didn't make themselves exempt from the healthcare they promoted.....I might buy their good intentions. Why the exemption? What's good for the goose, should be good for the gander. The Democrats are too fiscally liberal, and the Republicans are too socially conservative. No common ground, no common sense anywhere.

All the "manual labor" you do is canceled if your salary is give to you from the government. Just another government deadbeat who was a soldier of fortune. And I've never drawn unemployment lol, or any government check, unlike your behind. lol!

I'm done reply to you, zippers, because all you can do is insult. You bring zero substance to the discussion, and all you try to do is lie and present misinformation to justify your government crap. lol! Thank you for the discussion. I hope you find a real job.

Smoke another joint and drop out Dim, you're sounding more and more like a stoner with each and every anti-government post you make. Draftees are not soldiers of fortune, I made $400 a month while I served, you really are a Dim Wit. Time to head to your Libertarian floating island and get stoned some more, Bon Voyage Dim Wit!

Your a soldier of fortune. And the salary you received came from real, hard-working people. Sorry, soldier, but no dice.
