Breaking news out of perry county where my parents live. At 4 0 clock today a 13 year old boy was cleaning a gun in the barn and accidently shot himself in the head. A family member found him.He was produced dead on arrival. Its so sad when something like this happens. His family are really having a hard time right now. This happen a little ways down the road from where my family lives.

In the hills, they start carrying guns early, for hunting and things like that. It is sad that one lost his life. So sad.

first this is very sad and my heart goes out to his family... I couldnt imagine losing my child, she means the world to me...Second, I dont anything wrong with a 13 year old boy owning a gun, alot of boy or kids I know do, they hunt with there parents. Also I have a firm belief that if a kid is raised around a gun, and taught how to handle a gun properly, then they would be less likely to be involed in a accident such as this one, and less likely to want to steal it and play with it without proper supervision. But anyways that is just my view on that. And let me say it again, I am sorry for the family loss

I agree it isn't the guns it is the fact that they haven't learned to respect them and how to properly use them.Like you though that is just my opinion.

live by the gun, die by the gun... sad, but, it as another poster put it, not an issue to have guns deep in the old country "13 is a man in that environment"... thats okay, i am sure the parents feel the same way... guns don't kill people, people kill people... and all the other old, odd cliches that make this reality, a deadly reality..."they cling to their guns and religion"

Prayers do work. In 2002, an infant in my family was seriously injuried in an accident. Doctors weren't hopeful. He was put on every church's prayer line. He recovered fully and is now a healthy happy 7 year old.

It is never too late for prayers and I was replying to a comment made by MMIX when he questioned if prayers worked. You are an idiot for not reading the entire thread. Maybe you're the one that has been making rude comments on the threads I post on. Anyway, I will pray for you to have a great New Year.

Are you one who believes that those who believe in God are stupid? It is my observation that when others call names, they are usually in the wrong.

Don't take it to heart. This person argues anything until someone confronts him and then just resorts to baseless name calling if someone disagrees.
