Go to the Commonwealth Journal site and search it. It was announced a few months ago by the developer along with Steak and Shake. It will be late summer or early fall before either is open.

I like to add to that if I could, since moving to this area I have a also noticed that a lot of the workers (I've dealt with), take no pride in their work...do the job right, and to the best of their ability. Mostly what I run into is workers who are there to put their time in, and collect a check no matter how they do it. For instance I've had mechanical work done on my vehicle twice, seems alot of people here think they are mechanics, but both times I had this work done, the work was botched, and once my vehicle was even damaged by the mechanic! If I could find an ASE certified mechanic, with the "tools" he needs, THAT is where I'd take my vehicle! I saw a "so-called" mechanic at one of the places I went, pounding on an alternator with a hammer! Sorry, there's no place to use a hammer on an alternator.
Even most of the service employee's I run into, act like I owe them a living, go into restaurants, the workers have scowls on their faces like they're ready to fight if you say one word. I people don't go back to places like that, and is most likely why you lose your job. No customers, they don't need you.
I was always taught growing up to do my work right, the way it's supposed to be done, and even go the extra mile,....because that job has your signature on it, and people remember who did it, especially if it's done the right way! They'll also remember who did the job if it's not done right,....and they'll not be back again. Take pride in your work, no matter how menial you think it is.......
I agree!!! Everything that I've tried to get done since I've moved down here has went wrong. People act like its out of their way to do the job they are being paid for

Mentality, mentality, mentality. I have never seen a place with a more anti-business mentality than Somerset.
How many times I've heard people say how much they HATE buckeyes.
So what, smile and take their money. Even better smile big and take lots of their money.
If all you can do is stick your chin out and say F U, then stop complaining about Somerset not getting any better.
We need to build up our tourist industry and then we can benefit from the good restaurants and jobs it creates.
I talked to a guy that I know in Ohio and he asked me WTF was wrong with people down here. I didn't say much but it reminded me of how Somerset folks always talk down to tourists.
Sure they may be a-holes, again, take their money smile and send them home broke. We win.
Nobody goes on vacation to a place where the locals treat them like sh!t.
You're exactly right, there's still a lot of backwardness here, and jealousy as well...People feel intimidated by the more educated and successful tourists coming in and that's just what people do when they feel threatened, jealous, etc.

Yeah...cause God knows that no one down there has a job, any money, indoor plumbing, or has ever seen a school or university. Stereotype people much ? Lol, I have a friend down there in his mid thirties that could probably buy your ass three times. It's condescending attitudes such as yours that makes people have these attitudes toward you in response. But of course, you people think you're right and the rest of the world is wrong......I got news for ya....it ain't just Somerset that has this approach to you. I don't understand why people who dislike the area and its locals come there. I mean, I wouldn't move to the armpit of the east, Cleveland, and I'll never visit there again. Once was enough, biggest mistake and waste of time in my life. A bunch of lardass loudmouth factory slaves that thought they were really something. A river that once caught fire it was so polluted... yeah, something to be REAL jealous about! Get real....

Sorry, you are wrong. Work ethic is not dependent upon salary, it is dependent upon character. They agreed to work for that amount, they know what the job entails. There are alot of great minimum wage employees in Somerset.

Really? Explain.....because I could care less about a bunch of know nothing blowhards. I don't even live there. Look at the "moving to Somerset" thread, and read the posts from the Californian, it's not just people from Kentucky who realize you people have big mouths and a problem looking down your noses at others, when you really have nothing to be concerned with. The only two good things to come out of there is Johnny Paycheck and I-75.....and I KNOW what I'm talking about!

It was announced a few months ago by both Texas Roadhouse and Steak & Shake that they were coming. It has been in the newspaper a couple of times since. The last article was not that long ago actually and stated the building plans had finally been approved. Hence the construction bids being available online.

<quoted text>Was at a recent business conference in Louisville. One executive said Somerset has more potential for growth over the next 5 years than any other city in the state. Lots of major retailers and restaurant developers have their eyes on Somerset.
No Interstate! Somerset will not grow at a rate higher than any city that has an exit from 75! Just plain and simple.
