You already can, you have two wineries. Buy and support local business, and get your drink on too....win win.

City Hall will get the money, how about the business that has been been in the city for many years , paid city taxes, now a business out of the blue that is clearly in the county and serves no real purpose by being annexed, will be getting the same benefits of profits from the booze as a someone that has owned a business for years in the city, that is not right! That is not progress, its taking care of a few so they can get even richer than they are now.

What do you have against a person making a living? What do you consider rich?If a business in Somerset wants to sell beer, apply for a lic. These places you are refering to do not have a liquor lic. They will probably be selling beer.
Correct me if I wrong.
If people were smart the whole county would go wet.

The paper stated that the Mayor says, we just need 3 or 4 more liquor lic. if they base this on population, then Somerset could only get 5 total, the county hasn't voted wet, there is supposed to be one issued for every 2300 people, the city has a population of 11500, so 5 would be the limit. RIGHT

No, this is incorrect. The number of liquor licenses given out is determined by the ABC. As a general guideline, they use one per 2,300 people but they take other factors into consideration such as tourism numbers, number of people in the county not in the city, etc. That is why Pikeville was able to get 11 licenses even though the official population is just over half that of Somerset. They can give out more licenses if they want.

They annexed part of east 80 just so a place can sell beer, three voted against it, what surprised me is there is a preacher on there and a deacon that voted to annex it. Something is wrong with that in my opinion, don't profess to be something if you are not. Don't tell people you are against sell of booze in our city and then vote to annex more places that are in the county to be able to sell it.
fact: annexation has nothing to do with business endeavors. in that event, the politicians are elected by the majority, the majority wanted alcohol sales, thus, as paid reps of the voters they must or at least they should vote the will of those who pay for the seats the politicians sit in. it's amazing, when one votes the will of the people, the wee minority of 33% whines about their service to those WHO VOTE!
