Coming from a family where very unique names are "normal", may I suggest that you think (really think) about ANY nickname that could be used with the original name......... Children are CRUEL and a really unusual name can cause a child a lot of heart-ache...... Maybe look into your heritage and use a version of an old world name...... Example: If you are Irish change Liam to Liase.... If you like birds change Robin to Tobin or Zobin. Or if you like blue Jays, change it Jayce....... Just a suggestion..........

Stick with traditional, strong names. Some children these days will need a college degree before they can even spell their names.

To all that suggest to stick with "traditional".. I think that traditional names are "over used" I mean why not have a unique name? It makes you different, All of those "traditional" names came from somewhere!.. I think different is good. & So far I love the name "Adeline" That " Lesson Learned 1" suggested! Thnx guys, Keep'em commin !:)

These "cutesy" names aren't so cute any more when someone hits their mid 20's and beyond... Keep that in mind.

I've never seen a geographic area in my life with more kids named the same thing than this area has.. And most of those names end with a "y" or an "ah" sound in it somehow.

i thought that as well at first, but really if you think about it, our 'traditional' names were probably at one time 'cutesy' names as well. we live in a world that is constantly changing. just because something was in style thirty years ago, doesn't mean it is in style now. it's 2O12, anything is possible now. and, if the world ends in december, the babies with the 'cutesy' names won't have to worry about being the 2O year old with a 'cutesy' name.
as for me, when i have my baby, it will be named from the list i posted. maybe in 2O years he/she will thank me for naming them a cutesy name. at least they won't be in kindergarten having to write their first - middle - last name because there are four other Ashley's or Tyler's in their class.

I still for strong, traditional names. Research your family history. There are probably names you have never heard of hiding deep in the past.

I didn't mean to put anyone down or be offensive. I actually got stuck with the type of name(s) I described, LOL. It surely doesn't fit the age I am now. Of course as old as I am, something else might have been appropriate for those olden times, so I guess I'm a bit lucky really.....
