Hello. Thanks for viewing my post.
My mom is 43 and she is one of this people that us kids have to make her go to the doctor.
She had been losing weight very bad lately. She is at 97 pounds and her normal weight is 125-130
She is concerned that she won't have the money to be seen. She is uninsured because her job doesn't offer insurance and she can't afford insurance on her own.
I would like to know if you can recommend a doctor that had a low down payment and will let her get checked out without costing too much up front.
Thanks for any help that you provide.

Contact the Lake Cumberland Health Department. Check out their web site under services. The also can tell you who is accepting new patients and who might have a payment plan.

Go to the health department. She's already lost almost a quarter of her body weight and won't last much longer if left alone. It's something serious, assuming she isn't doing it deliberately, but actually even then it would be serious too. With serious medical problems most people who aren't independently wealthy will qualify ultimately for a back dated medical card. Usually you end up just sticking the bills in a box until they add up to whatever the state's magic number is in terms of your bills in relation to your assets. Wish you the best.

It could be something as benign and fixable as irritable bowel syndrome, which also is frequently misdiagnosed. Sure made a friend of mine suffer and loose a lot of weight
Barry White, MD is accepting new patients. I hear he's not as money mad as some of the rest of them.

Unexplained weight loss is also a sign of diabetes. She needs to be checked.

You need to see Dr Jerry Weigel ay St Luke's Clinic. It is FREE medical attention. The phone number is, sis zero six, four five one, 8282. Tell her the hours are not set, Dr Weigel is retired, but he does maintain the clinic abou two days a week.

Good idea Hope. My Aunt lost a boatload of weight and her local MD screened and scoped her for cancer.
Never mind that she was very overweight to begin with, an obvous risk factor. When he finally got around to checking her blood sugar, it was thru the roof.
