You have mention that this will affect frontline employees -- such as flight attendants and gate and ticket agents -- It will not affect Delta pilots, who have a union contract with the company.What about the airline mechanics?Are they going to be affected?I know this cmpany is not ready to face any violation from the FAA like the the resent North West airline flying aircraft around wihout regular routin inspection.I personal think Delta should keep all it employees but rather increase airline fares to balance the high avgas price.I strongly need your opinion on the mechanics position in this matter.

Wow, that's a lot of layoffs. Maybe they should have taken the deal with US Airways when they had the chance.

The team that Richard is putting in place at Delta is the same team that was at NWA. Look it up.
