We can only hope the Traditional Moderate Republicans find someone to run against Brownbeck in the 2014 election. Also, there is always hope that a strong Democrat candidate appears but those chances are very slim. Hope and pray for a moderate Republican who can rescue Kansas from this person.
We've consigned ourselves to two years in Brownbackistan, let us pray that there will still be a Kansas for ANYBODY to save. This is the first time that his particular wing of the Republican Party has ever had this much political control of a state, it's going to be an interesting flight.

The Brownbackites are more interested in waging the war against women than the war against the rest of us. They are so concentrated on a myriad of repressive antiabortion legislation they don't have time to worry about much else. They're not the brightest lights on the Christmas Tree.

The inevitable failure of Brownback`s agenda will definitely keep him out of serious contention for the Oval Office. That, and the average American voter`s distaste for extreme right wing conservatism. He has no mass appeal to a younger, browner America , as Romney just discovered. Even the wealthy Koch brothers won`t be able to buy a Presidency for him. For that we should be thankful.

I`m tickled pink that Kobach`s voter ID laws, adopted by 35 states to suppress the votes of people who vote Democrat, actually backfired on them. Call it poetic justice !

Thanks, Louie. You posted this in the right thread, too, since Sam Brownback has furnished the Governor's Mansion with tawdry piss-elegance such as impresses his rube constituents, so flea market knockoff designer luggage is definitely in the same category as the tastes of the wowsers who elected Opus Dei's favorite son.

I am old, but not old enough for Medicare. I am poor, but not poor enough for assistance. I am unemployed, but work (very) part-time (lucky to have just a few hours a WEEK) in the poor, southeast corner of Kansas where jobs are few. I am uninsured, but thought I could scrape by until the new ACA would help me live without fear of a serious accident or illness with modest insurance premium rates that I could afford. Why does Gov. Brownback want to deny my access to the benefits of the ACA? Can he prevent me from accessing the Exchanges that other states are readying for the October 1st enrollments?

One, you are too poor, two, there is nothing affordable about Obama care, three, you are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Lastly, Brownback is just like all other politicians and worse, well trained in Washington D.C.. How anybody could have voted for a D.C. politician is beyond me. And you were expecting...

Republicans in DC are on the take too but crony capitalism book is being written by corrupt chicago style Democrat thugs.

You like taxes? You like more public sector spending? You like more foolish and arbitrary regulations?

If your answer is yes, by all means, vote democrat.

You and those like you will re-elect him handily. I suppose you`re a Kobach fan , also. There`s probably even a framed photo of the Koch brothers gracing your living room. If you make less than $150,000 a year , you`ve been duped.

"WE THE PEOPLE" ! maybe we should vote on everything, and do away with a permanent governor, and just vote on the laws ourselves as they become suggested. It is still we the people right ? The government works for us, we just have to remind them of that. Let the people as a whole decide what we want by a statewide vote. How much more fair can you get than that? Legalize marijuana? Let the people vote. Not the one person deciding our fates for us. Divided we will fall, look at us go now!

The hell with the state representatives I say ! They will lie or do anything to get in office. How do you think they get elected? why let 80 or 90 people decide for thousands and thousands of us what we will or will not do. We are the last thing on their minds while in office.-- ha ha ha

The state is in terrible financial shape , thanks to his plan. There`s no time to turn it around before 2016. Not even his owners , the wealthy Koch brothers , can buy him an election to POTUS. His extremist Secretary of State only adds fuel to the fire.

Brownbag started as a Johnson County moderate. He turned hard right because the rubes over there in tinfoil hat land were ripe for plucking.
