Also, notice the uptick in scenarios they are trying to scare people with? Pot in the house is suddenly "child endangerment?" Booze, knives, electrical outlets, power tools, violent video games, pharmaceuticals. But no... POT is clearly the most dangerous by a long shot, huh? And since when did what one STORES something in matter? If it was in a bag of dog food, do we then charge them with animal endangerment? If it was in a locked safe with some cash, they'd automatically call it "drug proceeds" anyway. Lose-lose scenario, just the way the government likes it. Government is doing whatever they please to the citizens. Property forfeitures are going up due to this ridiculous war on pot. Very lucrative for government in more ways than one.

Drug prohibition is unconstitutional. There is NOTHING in our Constitution which supports it. Nothing. International treaties are the basis for all drug laws. The U.N. is not our government.(Well, it's becoming that way, but there is still time to stop it if people would just wake up to the ruse that drug prohibition really is!)

What is more "big government" than this, dear conservative? When did conservatives sign off on the government coming into our living rooms?

While legalization would take AWAY the incentive (and customers) to sell to, is it better that someone like this man take food stamps and welfare than try to provide for his children in any way possible? Almost one in five don't have jobs, or don't have sufficient work. Yeah, some people are going to try to make a buck by any means possible. The existence of the black market insures they will have such an opportunity.

That's it, 60 grams? 2 ounces? 1/6 of a can of soda's worth? Sheesh, those cops are getting desperate for cash out there. I used to flush that much down the toilet when I got tired of cleaning and trimming all the weed I grew.
Well that's something to be proud about.

I wonder if "Twins" has some sort of administrative rights? Here he is again to judge all of my posts as lunacy, and I cannot help but notice the "ratings" my previous post were given have since changed from "helpful" to "clueless" status.

I don't think the U.S. Patent Office gives out patents for weeds. Unless, of course, they've been genetically modified. Can you track down the patent number for that, or should I just treat this as an urban legend in the making?

The headline "Man allegedly kept pot in children's cup" is incorrect. That man allegedly kept clear plastic bags in that cup. Don't the people who write these headlines bother to read the stories?
Well when does 2 ounces of pot ever make the headlines? All those charges are BS and will just be there to scare him into a lesser charge.

Give me a break! We have much bigger things to worry about than Marijuana. Such a waste of time and resources. I always think it's funny that rapists and child molesters do less time in prison that people w/ marijuana convictions. Time to take a serious look at our priorities.

Thats for sure....They also plea out rapist and murders because the jails and prisons are so filled with drug charged people...GET THE CITIZENS OUT OF PRISON SO WE CAN JAIL THE REAL CRIMINALS!!!!!!!!

End war on drugs and disband the DEA and we would save billions all why freeing up space for REAL crime.

Patent # US006630507

People are so busy with American Idol and Osama Bin Laden nonsense, all manner of things are happening which people are paying no attention to.

Sadly, it sounds "crazy" when people hear these things, but that works in the favor of the government too, doesn't it? No one is paying ATTENTION to anything. The patents. The 2,000+ page "laws" the crooked politicians are passing for the crooked corporations.

Also, consider that the government has operated the only growing and research facility in Missouri since the Controlled Substances Act was implemented. The government has a monopoly on this very valuable plant. Taking CBD (just one of many naturally-occurring cannbinoids in the cannabis plant) OFF the Controlled Substances Act is paving the way for the Pharmaceutical industry to provide medicines based on this miracle plant that anyone can grow, and to substantially process and profit. All while they pay royalties to the goverment, being they are the patent holder. Big pharma is second only to the Military Contractors for filling the pockets of Washington scum.

Also, please look up history which will show a myriad of cannabis-based drugs which were once on the American Medical Association Pharmacopoeia before the 1900's. The uses for cannabis (and industrial hemp) are so numerous. They have only been outlawed to allow control by "proper persons" of our supposed "free market."

Why would the government use Billions to enforce prohibition of pot? Because it is Sooooo incredibly valuable and their profits, once it is brought under their control, will be HUGE. This is one of the biggest rouses propagated on the American public on the backs of our own tax dollars! When is it enough, people???

By the way Jolly, if I search for Patent #US006630507, I get a meager two results on Google. This info is NOT being disseminated to the public, obviously, but it appears more and more the facade put up by our rogue government is beginning to crumble as people find this info. Any coincidence that an internet "stop switch" is being proposed by our fearless leaders?

Thanks for the reply. I learned something here. It is, however, a patent for the chemical compounds with additives (much like aspirin, where the chemical salicin was taken from willows and combined with sodium as a buffering agent to protect the stomach, along with acetyl chloride). They couldn't actually patent the willow trees. They can patent the pills, powders, and liquid extracts that they make from cannabis, but not the plant itself. You can go ahead and grow your own without being sued for patent infringement, but I'm sure Uncle Sam will find some other way to show it's dissatisfaction.

That's right. Now, if you keep your stash in the coffee can, you'll be able to keep it all for yourself. Kids hate coffee. I know I did... until I tasted dad's 'special blend'.
