As far as I'm concerned, the State PROVED the smoking ban is NOT about health effects. It's about money; which we all knew anyway.

The article quotes John Lundquist as saying, "To a large degree, the state relies on that revenue stream to meet its obligations," he said, adding that the impact on state revenue from the ban in bars and restaurants would be zero.

31 MILLION is received by the State of Iowa through the casinos. Hindering their ability to conduct business would cripple the state (and it's budget).

Hmmmmm. Interesting. Especially since the initial pitch for establishing a smoking ban was all about health effects.

Evidently ,$31 MILLION will buy exemptions to laws and lend a little extra protection under the Constitution?
