Grew up with all the Palmer girls. I visited Holly in the afternoon the day she was murdered. I talked with her for quite awhile about her shop and bought something but can't remember exactly what. I remember her talking about what I thought was an ex-boyfriend and how she was excited about her new business endeavor. I was 18 at the time and I know at that time I was the only person there. She seemed happy and I even mentioned to her that I would be afraid to be there alone late at night but she just shrugged it off like it was no big deal. When I heard that she had been murdered I went into panic mode. I told my parents that I had been there that afternoon and they told me to stay out of it since I had not seen anyone else in or around the bus station. I do not know if that was a good or bad idea. I only know that I did not see anything at the time that would have raised any flags. I have thought of her quite often over the years and the sadness of someone taking such a beautiful young woman. I pray that someone opens this case and actually follows through. Justice seems to have gone by the wayside and someone knows exactly what happened and who did it. I know what I have said is not much but I just had to say what I remember. May God be with those who are ready to open this back up and justice be delivered. To Honey Palmer-my prayers are with you and your family.

Old Friend, thank you for your input. I just noticed its already been two years since I started this topic. If only more people would come forward and talk about what did or did not see it would be helpful. Her violent passIng caused me much grief even though I did not have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with her or my other cousins. I was overseas when it happened and it was such a terrible feeling knowing that someone had taken her lIfe. Just knowing that the person or persons that committed this act have not been brought to justice causes me much anguish. Also not knowing why this occurred is painful. I ask that we continue pouring additional information about this murder in the hopes that we can identify the perpetrator(s). Thank you everyone.

No. At the time I was 18 and my parents did not think that I had anything of value to offer and plus they did not want me involved. But now I wish I had. I was in complete shock as was everyone who knew her. I am sorry. I pray that by this being talked about on here will somehow get this case looked at again. I just wish that people would come forward and get tis investigation going again. Again I am sorry.

Old Friend, don't be sorry. You should consider speaking to a detective. THis could help the case and get this off of your chest. Seems like it still bothers you to this day. I understand why. Please consider this. I would appreciate it. All if her family would appreciate it too. Maybe something she told you that day could fit into something else that we're not aware of. It could be insignificant to you but tremendous to the investigation. Thank you for coming forward.

I really don't know what to do. But I am willing to talk to detectives. I am not sure if what I remember will help but it is better than doing nothing. Just tell me who I need to speak to and I will tell them what I remember. I am just disgusted with the police for giving up. I don't care who you are or where you come from, this is just sickening. My cousin was tortured and murdered while she was 7 months pregnant. And just because she was involved with drugs and prostitution they did not care that she was basically mutilated. Funny thing though this was 1989 and there had been other women killed with the same m/o and this person who they caught for the other murders was a serial killer who was mexican and spoke very little english. They could not prove that he had anything to do with my cousin but get this he lived in Granbury around the time Holley was murdered and this is the crazy part and why I know this-he worked for my dad doing construction. I just remembered this when I was talking to my son about Holley. I do not know his name but I know the Dallas P.D. does. Maybe this could be tied together. Or something totally unrelated. But all of this needs to be looked into.

Hi, I knew Truman Johnson of Acton, he had a son I knew who's girlfriend was knifed to death in Granbury near the PD station, I thought at a convenience store around 88. Do you know who I knew? My memory is faded, I can't recall the boys first name, or the girls name. I met her, i think she was very blonde headed, it's been so long.

"An Old Friend in Austin "]To whom it may concern:
I actually went out with Holly a few times in the summer and fall of 1988. Very sweet girl. Still emotionally banged up from her divorce. She had a t-shirt shop in the bus station and I think may have even crashed there. She worked out a deal with the owners (Kirk or Kurt Jones and his Mother) of the bus station where she worked the counter selling tickets for the bus station and got a discount on rent.
It was Thanksgiving weekend 88. I believe it was the Saturday night that they thought the murder occured. I was questioned by GPD but as soon as I could prove that I was with family a few hundred miles a way I never heard from them again. She kept a journal that was a little bizarre in how it was written. Very dramatic and soap opera like. Thats how GPD got my info. The really strange thing was he wake. It was open casket which in my opinion it should not have been. I did not even recognize her, Her face looked like clay and did not even resemble her. The really whack part was the guy she was dating at the time was I think a Mexican national (very broken english) who brought his guitar to the funeral home and started to serinade her there in the coffin. He almost climbed into the coffin with her. Strangest thing. The family got him out of there shortly after that. The rumor at that time was he was a main suspect and from what I heard shortly after that went back to Mexico.
Her and I never clicked but she was way too sweet and young and beautiful to have this happen to her.
Good Luck in your search for the truth.
Just as a side note , A few of the sisters new and I think a few of them dated GPD cops.
The were all cute girls.
Hi. I use to go to school with Holly we were best friends. I didn't even find out until the day of the funeral as my aunt lives there still and called my mom. My parents still live there and I visit about once a year. Do you know if anything else has been done on her case? I had heard back then that it was a Spanish guy that she had dealings with or maybe his girlfriend. I went to her gravesite back then and all there was is one of those flat head stones and not an upright head stone. I hope she has one now.

Holly was a good friend of mine in High School and it has haunted me for years that the killer was not caught. I want to find out who we have to contact to get this case revisited. I have to wonder how hard they tried and whether they have any DNA evidence that could be used to solve this.

Lee, I said the following back in February 2011: "...Police won't talk because it shows they've done little or nothing to date. They shouldn't take it so personal since most of them, if not all, were not there when it happened. On the other hand, sonmeone in that department needs to take a personal interest in the case to solve it. We need someone who will go through the casefile with a fine toothcomb and most likely the person(s) who committed the murder has already been spoken to or identified. They need to ensure that all DNA evidence has been submitted to the lab and ran through CODIS to determine if there are any matches. If we did have suspects did we ask them for their DNA? The Po Po department needs to canvas the town and go door to door of those individuals matching the suspect(s) or others of interest and obtain their DNA for submission. Why do I have to tell them to do their job? If there was any DNA evidence on poor Holly I hope it wad recovered and properly collected and maintained. Even if it were in the days before DNA it should have still been collected for simple blood typing. There's a bunch more that can be done. I personally challenge Police Chief Mitch Galvin to pursue this investigation to it's end. Stop sending your police officers overseas on liaison and get their asses to work on this unresolved case. Be proactive Mitch and not reactive as you are in over 90% of your "cases". Live up to your Mission Statement and earn your keep and respect. Do I have to say more?"

I want to know if they've completed the above steps or not. There's a possibility the killer has submitted DNA in post cases. At least, that's what I hope for.

<quoted text> Thank You ,"searching for the truth" I also wanted to add to anyone who is interested. I received my degree in criminal justice from the University of Houston Downtown in 1991. I am not just a yokel who read a couple of books. Any decent profiler with the FBI can tell a lot just by looking at the facts. I will give you all an example; from what little I know about the case,it was personal, the killer knew her and was enraged by something, probably rejection. Next i would say that the murder weapon was something from her t-shirt shop. That would indicate it was spur of the moment (after a verbal confrontation?) If the weapon was brought it might indicate premeditation, but who brings a hammer to a robbery. Once again someone she knew. I would imagine it is someone she knew. I would imagine it was the person who was suspected at the beginning. I always look for the most obvious. The answers are in plain sight.

Does anyone have any information on the murder of my cousin that took place in Granbury, TX during 90/91? She had just opened a T-Shirt shop close to the bus stop and not far from the Granbury Police Department. She used to have a sister - Molly, that worked as a dispatcher for GPD. As far as I know, it was never solved. I'm not sure if my cousin's last name was Hunter as I believe this was the last name of her stepfather. But, I hope I've given enough tips for people to recall her and her murder. Please help. Thank you.
The guy that Holly was seeing owns La Fiesta restaurant in Cleburne Tx. My source wears a badge.
