In case you haven't noticed, the economy has been Obamas for the past 4 1/2 years. Do try to keep up. Raising the debt 6 trillion dollars over what Bush left isn't fixing the problem and the unemployment rate is unchanged at best.
Put up your DNC pom poms cheerleader and go take a math class.
We have had our arguments in the past about your limited abilities to math. So take the time to actually do the math to DJs numbers. Your nonsenses bumper sticker mentality fixated on $6Tillion does not take into account the HUGE DEBT the Bushwhacking republicans handed over of $1.4 Trillion per year plus the 800,000 per month going into unemployment. Obama in 4 ½ years have brought us to an economy with a DOW closing at 15,055 up from the republican Bushwhacking 6,047. Problem is not yet fully solved only identifies your lack of comprehension. Consider it took F.D.R. 13 years to get us out of the republican Great Depression and Obama got us out of the republican Great Recession in less than 2 years and in 4 ½ ; has us back on track to full recovery.
Now any one of the republican candidates would have us return to failed policies and we would now be heading back to desolation row.
Now with your 3 corner Tea Bag hat dance, dance to the republicans chants for inequality. The Coo-Coos are out in force today.
DJs numbers are correct and very simple to follow.
National debt at start of Bushs first term:$5.7 trillion
At end of Bushs second term:$10.35 trillion (+45%)
Household debt at start of Bushs first term: about $8 trillion
At end of Bushs second term: more than $14 trillion (+43%)
Unemployment rate at start of Bushs first term: 4.2 percent
At end of Bushs second term: 7.2 percent (+42%)
Budget surplus at start of Bushs first term:$128 billion
Budget deficit at end of Bush second term:$1.2 trillion
Annual cost of Afghan war in 2001:$20 billion
Annual cost of Afghan and Iraq wars in 2009:$208 billion
That is a lot for our President to try to undo - especially when the Republicans don't want any progress.
