Burleson man killed when Union Pacific train hits SUV; woman injured

A 23-year-old Burleson man was killed and his female passenger was injured when their SUV was struck by a Union Pacific freight train Friday night.

Apparently, they didn't know the laws of physics. Or at least he never took it in school, along with English, and drivers ed. When you get that much weight and that much momentum barreling down on smooth metal rails and there's warnings everywhere to warn of it's impending coming. One should never play chicken with it.

Maybe this guy was truly trying some suicide pact with his gf.

It really it tragic. I too hope they didn't have kids that have survive with this on their minds.

This was not a suicide and he was just laid off from his job. He was upset and trying to get home because of what just happened. Most kids to go in between the rails and it is common practice, so the police department have been posted around that intersection to try and keep kids from doing that. Niether have any kids and the woman Jana is in critical care right now. I wanted to clarify this information and the insensitive "jerks" that say get what you deserve can be more understanding and kharma is a bitch. Prayers go out for the mothers.

Thats a pretty crappy thing to say. I happen to know the Family of the young man that died (Parents and Sister). I dont think poor judgement on ANYBODIES part deserves an early death. Those are very insensitive words, and Im just disgusted in your response. You dont even know what the circumstances might have been! I do know one thing, words like that are just totally uncalled for. Didnt your momma ever teach you that if you cant say anything nice, DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL?!?

f you all this guy was a close friend of mine and the woman in the car happen to be my ex girlfriend, they are two great people and brandon will be missed. i hope that janna gets better.

I feel very bad for the parents of this young guy! I know the mother and work with his cousin. I feel that he would not have done this with his girlfriend in the car.If he had known what was going to happen. Can you say freak mistake(ACCIDENT). it happends. People have no reason to get on here and write crap that they do. I would be devastated to see this if I were his parents. stay off here if you can't say any thing nice.
