Cheers and Jeers

Aug 2, 2007 Full story: A liberal dose 9

Jeers: To legislators who boast about the thousands of bills they got through the Legislature. What happened to Thomas Jefferson's credo, 'That government is best that governs least'? Don't count success by the bills you passed, but by how many you headed off at the pass.

-- Don Woodard, Fort Worth

Cheers: To my heroes at Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School! I had a flat tire on a Friday afternoon, and two of our custodians, Mr. Salinas and Mr. Ruiz, had that tire changed in about five minutes, allowing us all to go home and enjoy the weekend. It would have taken me a lot longer just to figure out how to get to the spare! Read more

I am so disappointed!!! I watched a lady try to get a sponser from 4 different dinning resurants one of them brand new to granbury, While they wanted her banquet business!! They did't want to help her with a sponsership.. What has granbury come to when they want money and our business but don't support our community. These girls had a great pitch it was for a great cause but NO support from community. I can promise my husband and will be boycoting these local resturants.

Businesses get hit up from everybody for money. It's unfair of you to demand money from them.

Give us money or we will boycott you!
You make lots of money, give us some!

Sounds like demands to me. Again, businesses get hit up from everyone for donations. If you are too lazy to find funding another way, that's your problem. Or, why not, sponsor the team yourself? No? I didn't think so.

God Bless Crowley
The afternoon on Aug.8th 2007 my 3 yr old grandson was involved in a traffic accident. He was hit by a gentleman while crossing street by the ice cream truck. Thank the lord, he is home and doing fine except for a few bumps and scratches. I would just like to say what a fine job the Crowley Police and medical personell did during thi crisis.
Yesterday Aug 9th. Office Kevin Newman paid a visit to Skylar (my Grandson), and I just want to say how touched my whole family was by his genuine concern, and the small gift Skylar was greatfull for. This goes above the call of duty.

And the gentleman that hit Skylar, we did not get his name, but he came by as well to see SKylar, this gentlamans"s name is Damer Price. He was extremly concerned and I was really pleased that he came by. The accident was not his fault, but he came by as well.

In closing, I have not lived here but one month, and in the short time i have been here I have discovered that this is a wonderful community we should be proud of. And thanks to everyone that helped.
