Sex offenders and the law: Too dangerous to be released?

There are 10 comments on the The Virginian-Pilot story from Nov 11, 2007, titled Sex offenders and the law: Too dangerous to be released?. In it, The Virginian-Pilot reports that:

“When you look at what it would cost to track them down again, convict them and execute those who would go on to murder - not to mention helping all their new victims - the cost of the program seems pretty small.”

The men who are being kept in custody after their prison terms expired are a collection of child molesters and rapists of women and children. via The Virginian-Pilot

go to . Click on the state you are in and open the sex offender registry. From there you go to the public notification system and select whatever county you wish. It gives pics and details of the offenders.

It behooves every parent or person interested in the welfare of children to see who is on the list. However the ones not on the list bothers me as well.

If we took a few of these PERVS and nailed them to a stump, there wouldn't be nearly as many pictures of them to see. LOL Yeah, we need to make examples of the Chesters

That is correct you can post the information wherever children are. There is no excuse for this and his believing that people think he is innocent. Like OJ he is. However one has to wonder how long it would take before JoeBlow and the gang would take it down. But remember something people are living in other towns next to these offenders. Over in Blackstone I do see the police going by one guy's place all the time. There is one that is still running the creep.

There is another in Buckingham..or thats his last known whereabouts. His name is Bobby Jamerson and he isnt on the list but I know hes guilty because he molested me from the time I was 8 til I was 10. I didnt tell anyone until I was older because my mom was raising me and taking care of her boyfriend until he died New Years eve of 86. He died because of the drugs this man supplied to him and now I feel guilty as hell because I didnt tell anyone. He literally got away with murder and rape. I just hope he never did this to anyone else. Im 31 now and have four girls of my own and everyday I remind them no matter what happens to them they can tell me. If I knew then what I knew now, I would have told someone but like many who have been molested I thought it was my fault and I didnt want to get in trouble. If any of you know him give him this message from me...{I hope you suffer a slow and painful death and burn in hell for the things you have done. You ruined my life and it will come back to bite you in the ass one day.} Just tell him its from Mike Townsends step-daughter, Im sure he will remember who I am and what he did to me and my step-dad. And anyone who says drugs dont kill, go to Concord Baptist church and visit the grave of my step-dad. I watched him slowly suffer because of the drugs this man brought into out home. Mike died sitting beside me in the chair and I will always have that picture in my mind. I can only hope he is up in heaven playing his guitar just as he always did.

What can I say Questionable you have put into words how all the victims feel about molesters and yet we have some that say were are just rumor mongers. I hope though that you feel better by telling it. What could you do as a child? You did nothing wrong. That is what they want you to believe that you are the guilty party. Don't let them get away with that. At least I hope we have a dialogue here. Please ppl know that someone cares what happens.
