I visited G-d's Land for the first time over thirty years ago and have been there several times after.
From the very first time I went there I was always welcomed and the folks were a very generous people sharing their drink (home made wine for me), food and smoke. I met some of them memtioned in this thread. A very peaceful experience!

I found a three minute you tube video with Buffalo Springfield that brought me visual memories of the 60's & 70's:

It's unfornuate that our beautifull little planet still face some of the same things today. The people in the video are older now (some have passed on). Fortunately some still have the GRIT to get out there and exercise our G-d given Rights to be heard. I say Thumbs Up to hippies and Liberties!

I think Elmer is around Lexington he wasn't really disbarred but took a leave he was one slick dick. He used to sell Audi parts on E bay.

He's married to some rich women Bob Briney from Albany could tell you about him.

Do you remember when Ollie had the drive through window and don't forget next door Fern spears.
It was true about doc's dog being eaten guess somebody had chronic munchies. Guess Doc was just pissed off with hippies my friend I would trust with my life and like me was born and raised here with many generations of kin.

come on somebody fess up about ole rambull it was some funny chit and I had a very reliable source and it wasn't Charles Manson LMAO

I know Leroy passed, so where is Elmer now? Had not heard of him for a while? Always thought it was odd that him and the Judge were partners. Noah always seemed like a pretty good guy and know it was rough on him when his wife passed. Can't think but what is the guys name that had the recording studio and ran Volcano BBQ for a while? These stories are so much a part of the HISTORY so continue to share. Now Doc was a character along with another bootlegger Irb Spears (Double E). Also Ollie Pruitt did a lot of selling back then.

the dog eating story is true. There were some single wild men called the Avengers who lived at the back of God's Land - they were a scrawly bunch and did eat dog, but were not at all like the families who were there or most of the others who were actually incredibly bright creative friendly people.....just lookin for a little peace...

there was a dog eaten but it was a dog that belonged to no one but the cook. He got the puppy before it was weaned and fattened it for about four weeks with nothing but clean food. I lived on God's land for over a year. I was there the night the stew was served. It was NOT Rambull or anyone else's dog. To repeat from my earlier post- no one would eat an old dog that has eat road kill and its own sh-t for years and years and bound to be tough and stringy. That is just common sense, even for scrawly (whatever that means--bad handwriting??) bunch.

The "Avenger Mansion" was the home of Pelican whos real name was John Ryan (now deceased). Pelican did not cook the dog. I put this in so you would know that I was there. I know who raised the dog. I know who cooked the dog. I know who ate the dog. I did not.

Wow, raised a little puppy and then killed it!!! That's worse than when they ate ole rambull. Ask ES about Doc's ole dog.
They claimed ole rambull was trespassing. Ole rambull chasing rabbits in dog heaven.

If you are who I think you are you should really write a book on God's land it would make a good read or movie. Congrats to ES on his book, can't wait to get it. Way to go friend.

I belong to peta ( people eating tasty animals) I guess ole Rambull deserved to be put in the pot for all the rabbits he caused to die. Come on!!! some of you old dogs know the truth. We promise not to put you in the pot. Might roast you though for the hash residue.
Put a photo of ole rambull on the dust cover of your new book being chased by God land Hippies. People don't get up tight it was just some funny chit. I'm sure the rabbits in rabbit heaven are wearing your photos on their fur coats.

yeah the manson rumour was bullshit, so was a lot of the other stuff people put out about the hippies; a few were lo rent thugs from out west, but mostly middle class college educated kids from the midwest and east coast, btw, i am the one who got mistaken for patty hearst, that was a joke and a half, all the fat cops from celina and the tbi sweating through the woods in august with all kinds of assault rifles to besiege a couple semi naked hippies in our little thatched hut. and it was oak, not cherokee, who got in trouble for bbq ing the dog,, willie james crawfords beagle.
go the source if you want the truth.

Hey Patty (just kidding). I remember that well! old doc's dog probably got ran over by a truck but he sure was up-set thinking "them hippies eat ole ranbull" Willie James wouldn't have been too happy either. He was pretty mean when he was on the moonshine.
Who was the dude they had to tie up time to time when he got wild and out of control? What year was it when they had the gathering. I believe it was on your place not on God's land.(baby Woodstock with a twist). wishing you and yours well. Aren't you originally from Scotland are am I mistaken?

Oh, and back in 1974 at Thanksgiving there was ducklings in orange sauce, turkey, and more good stuff. The BBQ dog ribs were provided by Cheshire and Pelican. From a puppy BORN AND RAISED on G-Land.

Noel was one of the best young painters I ever met and a really good friend when we were young. Knew him in New York before he went to Godsland. If anyone still sees him, tell him Judy said Hello.

Coe Ridge famileis have their annual Memorial Day weekend re-union every May. Maybe members of the Cumberland county hippy community could come back for a 40 year weekend re-union festival sometime.

Thank you so much, new friend, for replying. I am so glad to hear that he still has some of his paintings and hopefully that he is still painting and drawing. Life moves on and here I am on the other side of the ocean but there are some people and some memories that stay with you for a lifetime. I have never forgotten Noel or Ann and want them to know that I stll think of them with great affection.
