What happened to being able to cast a vote without anyone knowing who you voted for? I went to vote and everything in plain view for anyone who wants to look my way can see who I am voting for. This needs to be changed immediately. There should at least be a curtain or something blocking the view. It is none of the election officers or anyone elses business who I vote for.

Where I voted, there were two tables to mark your vote, an election officer standing there looking at you while voting and nothing to make it discreet. Then they say put the paper in this machine, don't matter if its face up or not, watching you the whole time. They should at least tell people to turn them face down when they give them the paper and act like they are interested in your vote not being known. Total of five people in the really small room while I was voting. Didn't even have tables set up where you would have blocked the view with your body. All it takes is one person to see and tell other people, then everyone knows. As far as I am concerned,it may as well be made public because it is the same thing when you vote this way.If they want you to mark a paper, there should at least be a curtain between you and other people. Sounds like a waste of paper to me anyway since everything has gone electronic. Can't believe they didn't come up with something better. To me it seemed we went back in time when voting instead of advancing to something better.Whoever came up with this method needs to go back to the drawing board.LOL

A "secret" ballot wasn't really important in my view. As long as votes are counted correctly its a fair election. Even though anyone could see my choices, I didn't feel influenced to vote in any other way than I saw fit. If its the most cost effective way to do it, I'm all for it.

gota say i like it also, was quick and efficient. however i can see how it would be important for some who may of cast democrate votes that dont want their neighbors to know to avoid being ostrasized. perhaps booths wit curtains.

Use the skills you should have picked up in grade school, cover your paper with tour arm and hand, keep your shoulder between anyone looking while you mark the ballo and turn it face down while placing in the scanner. Do we need to spend the money for a private room for each person?

I agree it was faster, would have been just as fast to step behind a curtain tho. Wow, how do you get someone not wanting people to know who they voted for being a democrat. I will turn it around and say you may not be voting for your neighbor and not want them to know for reasons other than being ostrasized.

Where I voted they had a private place to mark your ballot, and was told to place it face down in the machine. No one could see who I voted for.
