So they are remodeling the hospital not building a new one. We need something. That place is in poor condition. When is this starting
Yes

To my knowledge they are building a new patient wing and remodeling the rest of the hospital. The old patient rooms will become offices for administration, medical records, and the billing department.

it doesnt matter if they build on a new wing, or get a completely new one. it will still be the same old thing, poor care, backbiting, nurses who dont care, and aides too old to care. lol lots of people or getting bad care if they are getting any care at all, and lots of people or losing their lives because of it. wonder why state doesnt do anything about it????????? if they dont get their heads out of their azzs and fire that bunch and get in some new blood , the whole thing will close and then where will burkesville be?

I agree there are some workers, from the cleaning department all the way up to some of the doctors that sometimes can be complete idiots, they don't want to listen to a word you say, and some people they shouldn't. But nobody knows your body, where your hurting or something else going on, but for some reason that don't want to hear it, they will do unneccessary test or that don't do the correct test.A person knows their own body. NOW, I've talked about the bad, now I need to talked about the good. As small as this County is, I feel we're very lucky to have updated equipment, we are very lucky (as small as we are) to have the doctors we have, physcial therapy, Doctors that drive here maybe one day a week to help people that may not could get anyway to see them. I'm sure over the years people have died because of a mistake, I'm so glad that they have stopped just letting any traveling Doctors come here on weekends, they either didn't know anything or you couldn't understand a word they said, so I am grateful for that. But no matter what " we do have a hospital and some good doctors " that have saved alot of lives,I know that for a fact. If its something serious, car wrecks, heart attacks, and others serious problems they all pull together,do everything they can to keep them alive until a heliptor can get here, I've heard to many people tell me that the Doctors from L-ville, N-ville and Lexington that had made comments that if not for what "OUR" Doctors had done, they would have died, and our doctor had made the correct call on what to do before the patient was flown out. I had a friend that was having a major heart attack and when they got him to the hospital, the doctor gave him a shot straight into the heart, and that saved his life( Its that shot thats so expense, I don't know what its called though) but they did tell the family that if that doctor had given him that shot when he did, he would have died within MINUTES. SO
yes they make mistakes, their human, but when it comes right down to it and something bad happens, I mighty proud that we have a hospital and doctors. Metcalfe County people have to go to Glasgow or T-ville, and when someone is bad minutes matter. To me the GOOD out weighs the BAD.

No its not possible they did a bladder and kidney infection at my regular Dr. office and he told me the test he was doing, and still in pain 5 days later I went to the E.R. for the same pain and the Dr. there thought I had a Kidney or bladder infection , so I peed once again( and that was all that was done at both places)in a cup and a different Dr. came in and said no you don't have a bladder or kidney infection, so we need to do some blood work, when I had already told him what my regular dr. had done. I wrote so few words about what could go wrong at our hospital, then I listed all the good things, and you pull out one bad thing and commented on that, tell me why, would you. I take up for our hospital and you come on here and make a remark, that I don't know what a Doctor is doing, if I pee, or if they draw blood I want to know what they are looking for, I am an adult, and I want to know what they are looking for. I have been to the doctors enough, I know what to ask, I pay enough for insurance, so I want to know what that are doing or not doing to my body. Just read the good points I put on here about our hospital and leave the negative things to ME, thats my business not yours,

i think that they should get rid of some of those aides that are so old, they came over on the mayflower, its bad when they cant remember from one room to the next what people ask for, and they never come back to finish what they started or to check if you got what you needed. some of the young ones are good, but they are going to be nurses soon, and will be moving on, and that still leaves all the old ones, in a few years the aides will be using the patients walkers to try to do their jobs.

you got that right, they sure are some old aides up there, and the young ones move on quickly, i wonder what happened to that one aide, the heavy set one, she always took good care of my mother and my husband, when they were up there. she used to sang to my mother and mom loved that, she always seemed so happy and had a kind word and a smile for everyone. I cant remember her name, but i havent seen her up there in a while. i guess its hard to keep the good ones around.

Was it Joan? If so you are right Joan was wonderful. And now that I think of it I have not seen her around for a while. I guess all the negative hateful attitudes up there run off the positive happy ones (or if they stick around the happy ones become mean too)!
I am thankful for the CCH & I understand the importance of the facility to our community although, Rick Neikirk needs to put the bottle down & do some MAJOR cleaning house!!!!!

yeah , thats right her name was Joan, she was one of the best aides i have ever seen up there, i wonder where she went too. She sure will be missed of she did go somewhere else. i know we will sure miss her, my mom still asked about her when we are up there. oh well, you are right they cant hold on to the good ones. or they run them off when, they are wonderful.

it will do no good to get a new hospital, or hospital wing, if they dont get rid of the crazy old workers and get some fresh blood in there, and stop running off their good workers, when they get someone good and nice they cant keep them, but they can seem to keep the old tired sorry ones around for the past 50 years. whats the world coming to!!!!!!!!!!

Not everyone up there is bad, there are some really great employees up there too. I would love to give credit where credit is do but if you say a name on here it turns ugly quick. There are a Couple nurses that are in it for the right reason & are always kind. There are also very very sweet ladies in X-ray & Respiratory. The kitchen & housekeeping stuff is also very very nice. Registration, lab & the aides all need an attitude adjustment but, not everyone there is bad. I just had to say that.
