Adair County vet. I've been going for years, now they come to BURKESVILLE, on MON. WED. & FRI. They are great, Mr. Dyer is also, but I think he mostly deals with cows, etc. You'll have to call Adair County and they'll make your appt. here their number is under(ADAIR COUNTY ANIMAL
HOSPITAL) That's what its listed under. Beleive
me you'll love them. Their office here is located right beside of Longs Auto Sales.

You do know there is medical reasons for doing it right? Our puppies have torn their ears twice and at such a young age it seems more cruel not to do them don't ya think? They are only 8 weeks old. They are very active as well as my husband and I are so, if it's happened twice already it will happen again and could cause infections or hearing problems if the infection isn't caught quickly. We are trying to be humane and will only do it if the vet promises they will have no pain. That's why I said a good vet. I know that it can cost up to 300 per dog if I didn't love and want to take care of my pet I wouldn't be spending that much. God, some people need to learn the facts of things before speaking.

I'm guessing you two have a problem with having a dog fixed also huh? Even though many people don't pay to have it done and there are puppies being put to sleep everday because no one wants them. Well seeing as you two had to stick your two cents in, can you think of another way to prevent my puppies ears from getting their ears torn? We did try the ear muff thing and man that was a waste of time and money.

Do you know how much they would charge to "fix" a male cat?

i'll just bet you have danes. honey if so thats all you can do. they are just so powerful an clumsy that it will only get worse. i have one of my own and that is what my vet told me but he had to send me to someone else to do it because he hadn't done it that much. so yes do it while they are small. don't listen to these people your heart is in the right place. i hope this is the girl i think it is.

and the Adair County staff are great. Yes, they are a little high on some stuff, but that comes from being the best. I would call Dr. Rexroar or Dr. Campbell and get an estimate.

Yes, I have Great danes. They run in to and under bushes and tore their ears. Already at 8 months they are strong enough to rip their own ears hanging them on things. I really am just worried about their well being. From what I understand that if you crop the ears and tape them that the cartlage grows and they stiffen and it's not as easy for them to tear them. I'm not sure I really care for the look it will give our boys (I think it makes them more agressive looking), but I do feel that it is the best thing for them. We like taking them for walks in the woods and don't leash them when we do. They need to be able to roam free sometimes. When these boys get full grown and can run full speed and they have the power that their breed has, they could rip a whole ear off or that is what I was told by a vet I met in Petco. I know this sounds cruel but would it not be even more cruel to not do it and take a chance on them getting and even worse injury? I do love my dogs and only want the best for them, they aren't just our pet they are our babies.
