My God!! When is it going to end??? I have seven Grandchildren, two of which are 12 years old. Would never in a million years think of leaving them alone. Call me overprotective or whatever. This mother should definately get serious jail time.

Agreed, but then she'd be guilty of leaving them alone again. Maybe they should lock the kids up with her!

This is turning into a veritable epidemic, anymore, little kids being just "left"! OK gang, all together now, "It was a mistake, I thought someone else in the family was watching them, I love my babies and can't understand why everyone is so upset." and blah, blah, and so on.

My daughter, who teaches 5th grade in Montgomery tells me when she sees something like this. "Dad there should be a test for people who want to become patents" God, she is right.

I agree with you, I have two children five and four and never would I even dream of leaving them alone, even when they get older. Over protective I am and I could care less. Kids can get into to much trouble, or get killed. The friends are more than welcome to come over and hang out, I rather that, then them going out and doing who knows what. I understand people need to work to support there families and live in todays world. It is very expensive, but find someone to help, or contact social services to find someone who can help babysit. You need to work to live, but NEVER leave your children alone. There is help, you just have to go and look for it instead of taking the easy route, which in turn would kill your children. I rather look, how about you?

Here's the TRUTH about this. These parents who are suddenly murdering and abandoning their children, are in fact, demon possessed. Like it or not, THAT IS THE TRUTH FROM GOD! And, we haven't seen nothin' yet! Thanks Sylvia Brown, you demon in disguise! www.EMBRACEDBYGOD.com

I DON'T UNDERSTAND, LAWD I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY LORD? WHY? I Mean peopledo the dumbmest thing why the hell would u leave ur babies home by themselves come on any mother in Her right mind wouldnt do nothing like that. She deserves more time not just a year, thats like a tap on the hand and then what she get them back, I dont think so,she needs more times and she needs parenting classes. Iam a mother of two ages 3 and 2 anit no where in hell I would leave my babies home alone better yet n a room, they are always somewhere where Ican see them, U may call it being over protective, but i call it love.

"Thirty-five year old Trinh Lai is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor"...

How did they come up with that charge?!?!?
This should have been abandonment or negligence.
What delinquency would a TODDLER be up to?!?!?

I would think AT LEAST "reckless endangerment?" I was wondering about that "deliquency" charge, myself.

I'm betting that this wasn't the first time those babies were left alone. Really sad, animals take better care of their young than many people do.

What is wrong with these people is not demon possession. It is in fact self centered, me me me attitudes. There are more of these people than you would like to think. Fortunatly for the children involved most of them around here have family and friends that will step in and take up the slack, so that the babies are properly cared for. Girls and boys that behave this way most likely have been babied and covered for their whole life. Some of them have had rough childhoods, but most of the ones I have seen lately have been privledged. Casey Anthony anyone? These are girls and boys that have been given everything, never had to be responsible, and never had to answer for anything. Mommy and daddy were too busy covering for them to see that their kids were being ruined. Gone are the days -not for all mind you- that family, and values and morals come first. We no longer reward good behavior. We reward bad behavior, teens having children are given a free life, drug addicts are given a check each month. Nobody has any drive or pride. Gone are the days when fathers had to man up and be a father, get a job, pay for your children and wives. This nation is in a sad state and just getting sadder. Everyone keeps making excuses for every crime committed. I know that psychological problems are real, and that sometimes, there is an explanation as to why someone behaves as they do. That may give reason, or explanation, but for me there is no valid excuse. Todays kids are growing up never being told no, blaming everyone else- down to video games and books- for their inappropriate behavior. They blame drugs, and drinking and anything and everyone else. When are they going to learn responsibility for their own actions? A slap on the wrist for walking out the door on two babies? That is what is wrong with the nation.
Sorry for my rant, its just something that irks me to death.

any woman/man that leaves her/his kids home alone should go to jail, and the kids should be put in foster care. these so called parents should never get the kids back.
