She comes off as an old bat who has nothing better to do than to yell at a kid.

I haven't heard the voicemail yet, still looking for a working link but if she was crabby and mean then that is wrong but on the other hand, this student sounds like his ego is a bit too large. I mean, he's tossing around his free speech rights and the fact that he lives in the cell phone generation. Come on, just because we have cell phones doesn't mean that common courtesy can be tossed aside. Where were this boy's parents?? Shouldn't THEY be the ones trying to contact the school system?? I would think how dare a minor, a kid, call the home of the dean and ask why school isn't called off. It's a major decision and there are guidelines as to when school is canceled. If the roads were dangerous and travel was risky then the PARENTS should keep the kid home that day or discuss it with school officials. I guess I get a little tired of these kids that think they are "adults" when they are not.
