Obviously, she did not need to be beaten. She is trying to make herself to not look like a criminal in order to protect her civil suit. Her comment: "We didn't steal the car, we borrowed it without permission." That is stealing. The car was reported stolen as well.

The cop was completely in the wrong. He should have used other tactics like simply closing the door and turning a deaf ear to her rude comments.

I hope he doesn't lose his job over this and I hope there is a small settlement for the victim.

He should be FIRED. In NY State using your mother's car is unauthorized use not larceny!

It was not stolen. The daughter borrowed it from her Mother! Larcenists don't intend to return cars they steal!
That's irrelevant, however. The absurd reaction of the Police Officer for being the receipient of a "flicked" shoe is actionable.

The penalties in Washington State include (5)days of home detention,45 days of community service and a $200 fine. It does not include a Jail term or having "the snot beat out of you". That's in WASHINGTON STATE.

I agree with you about the police officer, but the report is that the car was 'reported' stolen by the owner.

That's irrelevant in the case against the Police Officer. The owner of the car was the juvenile girl's mother. Under the terms of Washington Law that is unauthorized use of a motor vehicle not larceny!

Wow. Just wow. A cop taking his anger out on a child, beating her, then blaming her for him hitting his shin. What a wimp. ALL cops seem to be stupid wimps with guns hiding behind their badges these days. No exceptions.

And you people protecting this felon for hurting a child are no better. Worse, really...Who knew, 1776 is getting closer and closer....

See you jack booted thug protectors in HELL!

i think a professional policeman with training and through experience should have a rein on his temperment, controlling his reactions to a persons everyday ,expected, normal, foreseeable behavour!...hows that for a one sentence opinion. when an officer reacts with physical battery there is a fine line between self defence and doibg his job and unrestrained violence, possibly definable as a form of vigilanteism!... sorry i couldnt stay with just one sentence.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Taurus

It's important that you leave yourself plenty of room to manouvres during the weeks ahead, as Mercury turns retro today, especially when it comes to making decisions and airing your opinions to the world. You need to be as flexible as possible right now, otherwise you could find that you've boxed yourself into a corner and have to do some serious back-tracking. You need to consider all points of view and not just your own.
