Looking for witnesses

I am looking for witnesses to an accident that occurred on Dec. 19 at Alice's Dog Park in Pasadena off Orange Grove Boulevard.

Elect ANYONE but Margaret York. She DESTROYED and ABANDONED a 600 employee law enforcement agency. She is the definition of the word cronyism. If elected, you can expect the rank and file public employee's morale (and therefore service) to plummet!

York is a complete baffoon. She was so corrupt and along with her internal affairs created so many illegal investigations with the county police. The F.B.I. and the justice dept. needs to investigate york and the county police's internal affairs. They will be shocked at what they find.

re letter 'Looking for witnesses": Just a recommendation - since you're seeing this guy show up in the park again, I would suggest being rather more aggressive in getting his attention and let him know in no uncertain terms that you need to be compensated. Take someone with you if need be in order to help confront this jerk with the wacked-out doberman. I sincerely hope you get a proper resolution to all this.

if it happen in a park, then it is handle by the county police. These individuals are criminals. specially those working at the health services at harbor-UCLA center. these officers under orders of their supervisors are mandated to increased their stats and quotas by making illegal arrest, traffic stops etc.. there is falsification of reports and illegal searches. some one please notify the FBI. Dont blame the officers, its the supervision that is corrupt and uneducated.

a simple question! I have never heard of county police, what are they and what city to they provide services too?

Yeah! I know about them. They are not really police officers but some type of specialize agency that works at the welfare offices, hospitals and parks. the mayority of their supervisors came from a county security company. well that's the only info i have about them at this moment. Anyone else got any other info

They are full police like any other agency and do work various assignments stephanie. They have the same powers etc. Their history comes from security for the county and grew into a police dept. Sadly their supervision and internal affairs are corrupt. The Justice dept. has to get involved and investigate the supervision,especially at harbor hospital, which their dept. officers nicknamed RAMPART Station...cause of the illegal going ons of supervision.

Thank you so much insider for this info. I do now a few of this officers, they are always complaining about illegal practices, but i thought it was only a joke. well i guess it is true. So is there any investigation in progress, in order to get these supervisors or officer in court. what about the media, are they aware of this illegal conducts.

I have been living in stanton california since childhood, during that period my parents always though me that cops are good and criminals are bad. when i became an adult i move to the outskirts of L.A. during my stay in that area for about 10 years, i witness the brutality and dislike of cops toward the community of the minority in that area. Yes, it is so sad for me to admit that there is sometimes police brutality against those that may be different in color and economical status. I dont know much about county police, but i do believe that not every single officer is corrupt. If there is any law enforcenment officer or supervisor committing a crime or violating someone civil rights then that person should be fire and sent to prison.

How is it that normal, intelligent people lump ALL people together as in saying all cops, whites, blacks, christians, latinos, jewish people are one way or another? Normal and intelligent people do NOT. Only ignorant people believe and make statements such statements. If people didn't commit criminal acts there would be no need for police. People are people and in any group there are bound to be some bad; doctors, lawyers, cops, ministers, priests, shop owners, nannies, babysitters, dog owners...

See if you can take a pic of him and the dog (several pics if you can) even if it's with your cell phone. Also picture of car and license plates, or write down the make/model and license plate. That, together with his business card (assuming he gave you *his* own business card and not someone else's) should be enough information for you to file in small claims court!! We're all missing the point here. Corrupt or not, York failed to take action when corruption was revealed and involved one of her cronies. Covering up excessive uses of force by her adjutant was ignored by York. Thefts of County property by her staff was ignored. Can Pasadena afford to elect this type of person. Her way or the Highway. Somebody needs to inform the City Council of York's liability generating habits. Do a search for York as a defendant. Lots of em.

enough is enough. am tired of all this comments either positive or negative. You people are just dropping people names in order to get people in trouble. Yeah! iam what u call an old timer county employee working for over 11 years. i have seen good things and bad things. we are not perfect people; therefore we cannot be perfect officers or supervisors. i may not write good reports or performed to equal standards as a young recruit or another agency officer.But i have to point out that L.A county police need improvement not only by officers but moreso by management. We all know of the merger with the sherrif department, 80% of us are in favor of the merger but approximately 20% are not. It is a fact that the 20% against the merger are mainly supervision, the brass and those officers with negative background. Many of these individuals have been fire once or twice and rehired again by this agency, some have more than three I.A. investigation ranging from sexual assualt, descrimination, road rage while off duty, DUI's, assault under color of authority, branishing of weapons etc. many of them have been suspended for months for violating county policies and citizen rights; therefore it is understanding for these individuals to be against the merger. The merge is going to help many of us. there would be more benefits, higher pay, better treatment of officers, better profesionalism, a lot more officer discretion, and more rights in general. Remember this agency has one of the worst reputation in the entire law enforcenment community, everyone think of us in a very negative manner and that mentality keeps passing down from generation to generation and it will nevr stop. We must as a people move ahead and do what is best for everyone.
Another that is wanted to mention is that we should not sit here and drop names about who is complaining about this agency. Everyone has the right to speak out, but some times when you speak out, the supervision will place you on the Shit list. Some officer have been wrongfully fired and they have the right to speak out.
i have work for so long in this department and i have observed and heard officers as well as supervisors (sergeants, liutenannt and captains)talking about integrity, moral, and honesty as law enforcenment officers. But behind doors i have witness these same individuals while off duty committing illegal crimes such as drinking and driving, soliciting prostitution, smoking weed, dating minors, sexuall harrasing others and making racial remarks about the minority blacks and latino people. You guys know who you are and I know who you are.
During my entire career at this agency, i have witness descrimination, i have spoken to officers, sergeants, and lietenants who have stated that the reason for the bad reputation of this agency was the black officers and some of the hispanic officers. Statements were made to the effect that the county should not hire blacks at all and also limit the employment of certain hispanics. A statement was also made by a Captain stating that as long as we only hire one black person per Year we should be fine, just to avoid the federal government breathing on our backs. So there you see that this agency really need some changes.
Since i have read everyones comments on this site, i have made a very difficult decision to go forward to the department of justice and the media about the situation at county police.
