The 1st 4 lines of this posting are mine! Please either use them as quote or not at all.You are wrong, Holy Cross is an outstanding hospital and even Olive View provides excellent care to a plethera of uninsured patients. Read up on hospital ratings. And you are right, St. Joseph's is overall an excellent hospital as well. It does however, sound like they have some cleaning up to do! Working with the registry as a nurse for the past 10 years. I have worked every hospital in the San Fernando Valley. Olive View is a Joke. Please, only go there if you dont have insurance. Holy Cross I can tell some horror stories from the D.O.U unit. But. I also can tell about some great care on there Acute Rehab.St Josephs E.R is one of the best in Valley. Be careful in September Tarzana- Holy Cross-St Joseph Burbank become sister Hospitals. F.Y.I.Superbugs were caused from Antibotics that people didn't finish their course of therapy causing the bacteria to become desensitive to the drug. Thus the bug became stronger and stronger.F.Y.I.

Morons- You stated that these patients may have entered the hospital with the infections. Well in one case that is NOT TRUE. If you want to read a portion of the Department of Health Services report, I have attached the link to a 34 page PDF copy of the findings. This was also provided in the Daily News article. There is more going on than what is being reported in the media. Hopefully you or none of your family will ever go through what this patient has. She is very blessed to be alive. I am sure they did not expect her to SURVIVE. http://www.dailynews.com/news/ci_9976937 |

I grew up in Burbank and all of my four children were born at St.Joseph. However, my 64 year old mother was in St. Joes due to an infectio from a hip replacement and died due to a secondary infection. Is there any recourse for what I believe is negligence?

Daily News please dig deeper into this allegation-
I was disappointed that NONE of the media presented ALL of the outrageous violations found during this federal survey investigation. It goes well beyond professional courtesy to a just plain 'cover-up'. This hospital is nothing but another King-Drew...but on the right side of town! |

Anyone who would like a copy of the Federal Validation Survey for the patient who contracted 'necrotizing fasciitis' in August of 2006 can obtain it from the Dept. of Public Health. This is the second of two investigations of the case in question. Multiple violations abound...hense the prospect of losing funding. |
