I can't understand what they are trying to figure out he was arrested for DUI/drugs, driving on suspended license, first degree vieh. homc. driving on the wrong side of the road and failing to maintain lane. Then he posted bond and came to the Funeral Home and lied to the family.

He said that he was not under DUI with alchol or drugs and he was tested at the sight. He told me he was not on the wrong side of the road and the charges state that he was. If you look at the scene you can tell he was on the wrong side of the road and tired to get over to the right side and he lost control. I am still trying to deal with the fact that he had the nerve to even show his face at the Funeral Home. At that time we had no idea what he was charged with. I asked him how fast he was going and he could not tell me that. Her pick-up caught on fire and the trucker put out the fire, but if he had not been on the road there would have never been an accident. Yes, I know I am very short and to the point, but it is going to take me some time. I just pray to God that he will help me forgive this man. She had 2 children ages 5 and 7 and I wish he could have heard them cry when we were telling their mother good-bye

But I would say please let the police do the investigating before you jump to conclusions.

I do plan on letting the police do the investigation, but he was tested at the scene and came up positive for DUI/drugs. I know the man is regreting what happen, but Felicia's children will grow up without a mother and that really hurts. The family will be there for them, but there is no one like a mother. I pray for Jackie Blackwell, the truck driver and I know that God has a reason for all things. I believe that anger is a part of healing and that is what I am doing - healing. I do not want anything to happen to Mr. Blackwell and I will continue to pray for him and for God to help me totally forgive him.

Then do you realize that before an investigation is completed, that you are committing a crime if you put information out in the public eye that has not yet been released by the police?

When you are in a situation like this you have to use your freedom of speech and ask questions because often things get swept under the rug and never surface especially if someone is not there pushing for things to get done you keep doing what you are doing for your loved one especially for her children they are too young to do anything don't let this end without justice for her and for her children I will be praying for the entire family and lovedones of this dear lady I didn't know her but I know the grief of losing someone in a tragic accident and you need the support of everyone. So know they are strangers who have you all in there prayers. GOOD LUCK

Actually, I always read the articles and it never mentioned some of the things you did. That's why I made the statement in the first place.
And I understand this may be personal for you. Trust me I understand. But I am a humanist. And I think, IMHO, that the complete investigation should be finalized and released before you start putting other factors in to the story. It's especially true that those with a personal connection have a harder time dealing with facts over emotion.

Truck driver charged in fatal crash

A 55-year-old Talking Rock man has been charged with first-degree vehicular homicide related to Thursday's fatal crash on Kelly Bridge Road.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened around 10 a.m. on Kelly Bridge Road near Windy Ridge Drive when Jackie Lee Blackwell lost control of the 1998 Mack 600 logging truck he was driving.

The trailer of the log truck Blackwell was driving hit an eastbound GMC Sonoma driven by 33-year-old Felicia Croy, of Cumming, according to patrol reports.

The truck's contents were spilled onto Croy's vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to patrol reports.

Dawson County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Tony Wooten said that Blackwell now faces charges that include DUI drugs.

"Mr. Blackwell also faces charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, driving with a suspended driver's license, driving on the wrong side of the roadway and failure to maintain lane," Wooten said.

Blackwell, who was employed by a Jasper-based logging company, was released on $40,000 bail on Friday, jail records show. Associate Magistrate Judge Lisa Thurmond set bail in the Blackwell case.

Also, Wooten said that the patrol's Special Collision Reconstruction Team was in Dawson County on Monday and Tuesday reconstructing the events that led to the fatal crash.

Croy, of Riley Road in Cumming, is the sixth person to die on Dawson County roads in 2008 already making it one of the most deadly years on local roads in Dawson County history.

Croy, a native and life long resident of Forsyth County, was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bill Millholland and paternal grandparents, G. J. and Grace Croy.

Survivors include: children, Matthew Johnson, age 7 and Shelby Johnson, age 5 of Cumming; parents, Richard and Linda Croy of Cumming; sister, Christy Croy of Cumming; brothers, Richy Croy and Michael Croy of Cumming; grandmother, Mae Millholland of Cumming; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larmon Barron, Rev. Ruel Martin and Rev. J. B. Seabolt officiating. Graveside services followed at Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming had charge of the arrangements.
