8 less west side fires!

In 1950 there were 580,000 people living in the City of Buffalo
In 2010 there were 261,000 people living in the city of Buffalo.
That means the city lost 319,000 people- More than half the population.
If each housing unit housed 4 of those 319,000 people, that means there were 79,750 empty housing units
Some of those units were single homes, some apartments, and most were duplexes. So, lets say that means about 40,000 buildings were vacated- people gone. Gone for the suburbs, out of the area to find work or dead.
That means some buildings need to either sit and rot, or get torn down
If these "preservationists" want to save these buildings, they can buy them with their own money and fix them up
