Let's hope the marksmanship of the police in Gowanda is better than that of the Buffalo PD, so that when the catch this scum, the deal with it right there on the spot.

I'm glad to see this guy was wearing his vest and is OK. But I've warned on my website about Gowanda police slowing down and talking to people while sitting in there cars or doing a slow drive by, especially when they don't know the person they are talking to or checking out. Gowanda's a nice little country village, and since the apartments across from the police station got cleaned up by me and the part time cops, its easy to forget that there are unfriendly and dangerous people out there. Also call for back up if someone runs into cover like the woods or over a ledge. One word- Situational awareness. I'm Glad to see cops working a second job with Gowanda instead of questionable relationships with bars and other places, but remember situational awareness!

That building is a Belmont housing. If I remember correctly, there are also several state clients there. Most are ok but some can be very beligerant if they don't take their meds. Ask the waitresses in the local restaurants. A friend of mine drove bus a few years back. There was one client who managaed every morning to "flash" cars. They finally caught him and what do you think they did? Nothing, because he's a ward of the state. Matter of fact, I think he works??? at jubilee!

I wish they would let us know if they have a desription of the person that shot Officer Miller. Then they probally could figure out who this person is that shot Officer Miller. To me Officer Jason Miller is one of the best police officers in Gowanda. It is very sad that he got shot.I hope he recovers quickly. My prayers go out to him and his family.

judges and law enforcement must stop dismissing teens because they know them and their families, when they see crime...then starts the cycle of bullying, lying, burglaries, drugs, underage drinking, addiction, drop outs, disrepect to al, property damages...GUNS next?..".my name is-----, i know the judge, the cop, etc, i wont get arrested, "or go to court and they rip up the notice and throw it out by court clerks........small town is lovely but knock on the parents door then..get help..there is alot of great outreach here.. it is amazing how everybody knows what's going on with crime and these kids get away with it..start at 15 then they are 18, dwi's all the time, they think it's funny, NOT ME, parents let them congregate at party houses and think its ok bceause its "not by my window".......well, then they are 21, 25, 30, drop outs, in jail, or living in some ratty apt. bldg, or vegetating at their parents....APPLE DOES NOT FALL FAR FROM TH TREE!!!!!!!!! what comes around goes around....KARMA?? good or bad, is up to you!!!!!!taecg about bullying and drugs in school here yet it is the same names doing all the crime (and their parents)...let's keep this area nice.........need more actual arrests, even at 16, with probations, or community service, public attention, sentences in the pennysaver(so we now things werent thrown out), etc......PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING!!!! mom of gowanda/collins teenager..ps tough love is better than no love

Just got home from church and the buzz is that people are keeping their kids home from school tomorrow. Guess there was a threat to the football team and especially to the quarterback.

I live very close to where the shooting occurred. I have a young child and it's scary when this stuff literally occurs across the street. Hope they catch the kid responsible.

Just WHERE ARE THE PARENTS of this kid? Where is their "training" in responsibility & discipline? That's the real problem today!

ok so i live in the big ol' city of north collins but i happen to have family out in gowanda and this makes me sad to know that my cousin alexis, aaron and frankie all have to go to school and have to worry about this shooter...now gowanda may not be the best town with all the underage drinking and drugs and the lenienet judges that does not want to do anything about the parents that let the underage drinking go on.....if i must say we all have to blame ourselves for turning our heads until something drastic happens and then blame the same ppl and continue not to do anything about it....if we each can reach out to one teen then isnt that enough to mabye possibly make a difference in someones life,,
