Thank you to the REAL veterans-the COMBAT vets, but not the military members who served in "rear with the gear", because that was nothing but a job and a paycheck

I served four years in the Air Force working on F-105s in SEA and C-141 cargo aircraft states side. For years I did not consider myself a veteran until a combat vet told me other wise. I guess we all contributed to the cause one way or another.

You did contribute, but more like a defense contractor like Rosie the Riviter, not a real vet

Good point. They might end up getting a dishonorable discharge

Thank you ALL VETs. for your service to your country.
As we all can see there are people on here that know nothing about the service.
A lot more service men and women are in harms way than they know.
I am sure the " Brown water sailors" and the people getting shelled and shot at when they were working " in the rear with the gear" will disagree with them.
God bless you all.

Because I called Denny's and I told them not to give anyone a veterans day discount unless they saw combat

In every branch of the military , there is always some sort of support to who needs it.
Every person eventually becomes a veteran.
Combat service is NOT mandatory to become a vet.
I notice there are some here that thinks differently than what the military does.

This is not a thread for your childish antics.
It is time for you to grow up and show some respect for a change.
Have a nice night

You are full of it...a contractor really??

I went thru basic training and qualified on small arms: M16s and would be call upon to defend the base if attacked. I worked a standard 72 hour work week for less than $100 a month. I gave them 4 years of my youth and received training for a skilled trade in return. I judge by your comment, the closest you ever got to the military was an enlist poster in the Post Office.

So which branch of the service did you serve in? Your brother claims he was too young to serve in Vietnam. You, being older than he, could have served. What is your excuse for not serving your country in time of need?

VOG must be busy, so I will answer for him. He is 16 months older than I am, so the I believe they had stopped drafting by the time he was 18. He did have a draft card though.

You claim the war was over when you graduated High School in '75.
The war ended in April '75. He had time to enlist and serve if he choose to. Obviously he did not. Was he always a coward???
