I`m cofused. Why if the government has been watching him was he allowed to keep that much money? That would have gone a long way in paying us back.

Still waiting to see a "For Sale" sign in front of his house. In that neighborhood, it should pull a couple hundred grand. That wold be a start.

First and foremost, I was presented with this investment opportunity and quickly declined. There is something to be said for those who do absolutely no research before investing an obscene amount of money with a local company. Nonetheless, it is counter-intuitive for someone, such as Altadonna, to invest $250,000 into an investment knowing full well a ponzi scheme was taking place.

With a young couple, who I am assuming just recently bought the house, I doubt that much of the mortgage is paid off. Factoring in transactional costs coupled with the real estate glut, I'd be surprised if they even made a profit. I was hoping to have a rational discussion here, but the majority of these comments are not constructive and simply ignorant. It comes as no surprise that many of you were duped.

You just said it.. WE WERE DUPED!!! By Lorenzo Altadonna And His partner in crime Guy Gane. Lorenzo Altadonna took money from his family AND friends trying desperatly to gane a Greek mans faith. His and Guys big plan was to DUPE this man in order to make payments to the people they had already DUPED.. We are not ignorant people, we had just trusted an evil person who claimed to know what he was doing. The people who write nasty things in this blog are irritated to see barely any progress in the case and also witness a lifestyle by Altanonna that has not changed. As for Altadonna's court case-what a joke!! A person that is convicted of a DWI gets fined more than he will be. Read the signs at a gas station-Anyone who drives away without paying can be fined up to $5000.00 AND up to 1 year in prison!!! Come on!!!!

Remember how Madoff's competitors and I THINK some other people made complaints to the SEC who did not do jack S because those SEC officers & their superiors involved in the Madoff complaints contacted Madoff and MIGHT have received BRIBES to look the other way?

Greed has no limits.
Locally, we had the Rigases(SP) & Adelphia.

And of course like any other crime, white collar or "regular" violent crime, the ponzi schemes and investment advisors ripping people off that we HEAR and READ about are the TIP OF THE ICEBERG.

Most of these filthbags never get caught, live a long happy life, have affairs with mega-hot women 30-50 years younger than them and die peacefully & quietly in their sleep.

There really is no true justice because the lawmakers allowing this S to keep going on with little regulation (in ALL business sectors to varying degrees) are of course, "the inmates runnning the asylum."

According to the Judge, Altadonna could be sentenced up to 20 years, but because he is cooperating, guess we'll have to wait and see what he testifies to knowing and is willing to say in court. The sentence may only be 2-3 years. In Federal Court, no time off for good behavior.

How interesting....a woman gets convicted of embezzlement and she gets jail time and has to pay back the $750K she stole. I'm thinking if this only happened to one person, that person would get paid back, but as it is so many of us, there is no chance of that happening?

There all "supposed" to reimburse the people they stole from, but, do they? And, in this case finally, someone got sent to jail. Usually, they boo-hoo , get a slap on the wrist, say they will pay back and go about there business. Nice gig.

Altadonna's father is suing the greek for $200,000. Maybe all the victims should all file lawsuits against Gane and his cohorts.

Would love to, but who's got the money to hire a good lawyer, let alone take the chance of losing? Along with being "ignorant and trusting" I am also scared.
