I was wondering why I saw a Niagara County Sheriff, NYS trooper, and a paramedic go flying by my house around that time! I'm glad to hear she is okay, but I thought there would be lifeguards then. They usually leave at 7pm.

Swimming in an area that is "at your own risk!" How about sending her a bill for the first responders who had to drag her fat can out of the water!

marko in buffalo, your statement was uncalled for about a typical Niagara county slob. It doesn't sound that you know to many Niagara County people.

You must be a single loser looking for anything you can get so you are scrolling the news for a woman. Go get a date with Patti "The Matchmaker" if you are so desperate.

Niagara county slob? I think there are more slobs in Erie county. Just look at downtown Buffalo!

The majority of these comments are stupid. This woman is not okay she can not breathe on her own and here you immature people are making fun of her? She got off her raft to swim ashore to get something to anchor her and her sisters raft and got sucked in by the currents. She should have been wearing a life jacket but she didn't and that was a mistake. Sending her a bill for the first responder who helped her out of the water would be like sending a bill to anyone in an emergancy, for the first person to help her. I can't believe how ignorant people can be. You should be ashamed of yourselves for judging people on apperance and without even knowing them. I hope nothing ever happens to any of you but if it does I hope karma won't come back like a boomerang causing you to have misfortune.

The first two comments I completely agree with. Thank you to all the volunteer firefighters for helping save peoples lives all the time. You are truely a great asset to every community.

This is the girl who was saved from the lake, first and foremost i wish to thank all who were involved in saving my life there is simply noway i could even begin to say thank you i have three children and if it were not for you they would not have a mother , i have had a rough time in overcoming this and i have a long road to journey down to fully recover, but through prays and all the love my friends and family and complete strangers have sent it surely does make it a lot easier, to the ridiculous jackass who wanted to no if i was a hot babe or a fat slob you sir are clearly a sickened individual, would you have posted those comments had it have been one of your friends or relatives? well probably because you wrote this down right disgusting comment about someone you dont even know i am a mother of three, a son who is going to do something useful with his life- entering the army to serve his country, a fifteen year old boy who is kind compassionate and caring and is going to go to college soon and help change the world and a very beautiful baby girl who sadly lost her daddy at the age of one and a half .
so perhaps you should sit back and re-evaluate what went wrong in your life that makes you feel you are doing some great service to the world by writing crap like that that her children and her family will read, i think you need some professional help for christsake you dont even know me,to the girl who said it was simply an accident i thank you for understanding i merely went to get an anchor as the waves were pushing us farther out i got caught in an undertow less than two minutes of leaving the raft, it was an accident and i thank god that there are trained professionals such as the olcott fire rescue, if not for them my children would be motherless and my family would have been devastated, to the person who thinks i should be billed for my so call stupidity, i was not aware of the undertow and there are absolutley no signs in the visinity that these are dangerous waters, boats are there all the time, it was an accident , one that has changed my and my familys life forever,my son was there and saw them pull me out grey and unconscious,he will forever have that etched in his mind, but at the same time because of the quick response of the rescue team he now knows mistakes happen and these angels are there to help when accidents happen, so whe you slip and fall off a roof , or have a car accident that you could have avoided may they should send you a bill for saving your fat can, until you know the facts , you really shoul find another cause to go after ,with all the hostility you seem to have perhaps you should join the military and take it out the people who are trying to destroy this great nation that we live in , instead of wasteing your time talking about something you clearly know nothing about again i wish to thank allthat were involved in my rescue had it have not been for you a whole family could have been totally devastated, thank you from the bottm of my heart,Melissa D Fisher and Family

Brit thank you for understanding as it was a simple mistake on my part to not have put on my life jacket, i saw like four people near me and i have been a great swimmer for about twenty years, there are alot of ignorant people out there, i just hope themselves or their family members are never in that position, its just sick that peoplecan be so cold hearted and i hope should a bad accident occur in their world they never have to read the kind of crap that i had read again i thank you for your opinion and your concern, ssincerely, Melissa Fisher and family

I was cleary very upset by that because Tammy is my dad's secretary and I have known her for years and my dad was one of the first people she called and my sister and I made sure she knew that we were here for anything she needed. We kept our phones by us day & night in case anything were to happen. We all love Tammy and would do anything for her or her family. We are all just glad to know that you are doing a lot better. Seeing Tammy like that was aweful and I never want to see her so upset ever again! Best of luck in your recovery! Our prayers & thoughts are with you guys!!
