Blockbuster is such a cheating copycat. The company is just taking Redbox's concept and painting a bunch of kiosks blue and slapping a Blockbuster logo on them. The American consumer is not as dumb as Blockbuster makes the consumer out to be.

Blockbuster's management has no idea what they're doing or what they will do. They have been living off the goodwill of its stakeholders and the courts for far too long. Sooner or later, the towel has to be thrown in and the sooner, the better.

They are closing batavias lewiston and main location in new york and they are phasing out the stores in buffalo ny
they should have it where if you are a part of their online rental service you can return to the kiosks and get free movie rentals that way

Can't do that. The kiosks are owned by NCR, a completely different company outside of Blockbuster, and there'd be too much confusions as to which DVDs belong to which company.

It used to be renting tapes at a store then it went to renting disks at a store then disks at a kiosk or by mail. The future is renting real-time or by downloading to your DVR. The other concepts are no longer viable and will be phased out.

What was popular yesterday is obsolete today. That's progress.

Video rental stores like Blockbuster are indeed obsolete and should be closed, but management seems to be unable to grasp reality and keeps them open.

AK and ALL LOCATIONS

THE AK LOCATIONS ARE OWNED BY FRANCHISE... MOST LOCATIONS ARE IN VERY HIGH RENT LOCATIONS... SO THEY CANT LAST EVEN IF DISH LETS THEM USE THE BIG BLUE TURD NAME !!
REMINDER, ALL BBV LOCATIONS NEED SHUT DOWN.. THATS THE VERY BEST THING FOR ALL PEOPLE... NOE MORE EVIL EMPIRE,,,, NO MORE BIG BLUE TURDS, NO MORE BAD KARMA , NOR MORE BAD MOJO, NO MORE RUDENESS,...
ITS TIME TO GET THINGS CLEANED UP ACROSS AMERICA, AND FLUSHING EVIL EMPIRES LIKE BBV IS A GREAT START.....
AND AS WE CAN ALL SEE AND AGREE, THERES SEEMS TO BE A BBV CLOSING EACH DAY SOMEWHERE :)
