Why don't you ask this guy who in the Navy gets to wear the " Trident" on their rating patch.
I bet he says only seals can wear the "Trident" well he would be wrong.
There are at least three rates that wear the "Trident", the " Seals" / "Specal ops." and the old "OTs." [who are now ST "O"s]
Do you even know what the Trident means in the Navy?
How about the " Sea Horse "
That would be "Divers" " OTs" and Underseas survellance "IUSS"
ST[O]s
Have a nice night

At least you admit you joined the Navy to avoid being drafted into the Army so you would not see combat.
Have you been back to the outer banks since then
That may be true.
But remember that we were at war and no matter what branch of the service you are in when you get an order you have to follow it.
You will never know.
have a nice day

May be he take that trident thing and put it in your back side.
I think that three prong thing just might hurt when he puts it where the sun don't shine.

A lot of chatter from people that didn't serve & knows nothing about it.

some try to belittle those that did serve.
then there are others that claim things about others & don't know what the other person did.

Does that sound like L C ???

LC didn't have to go to college but he was scared of inlisting.

You are correct

I did not enlist

I turned 18 in July of 1975

I went downtown to register for the draft

Viet Nam was over

The guy at the draft board told me the draft was over and that I could not register.

It's all about timing

I am not going to lie to you. If Viet Nam was still going hot and heavy I would have used my college deferment and after that I would have gone Navy

I don't like to be hot

I don't like to be cold

I don't like insects

I don't like to be shot at for no good reason

You sound like a little girl!

But why Navy? The Air Force had the fewest casualties and wounded. Besides the Coast Guard that is.

It amazes me that people believe that our enemies should be entitled to the same constitutional rights as Americans. Men and women fighting to protect our rights are now expected to protect the rights of those trying to kill them. In combat situations, should soldiers be required to start documenting events so that they can present their case at a future trial? Maybe we should have attorneys assigned to every combat unit to help them collect the necessary evidence.
Combat situations are not the same as police trying to apprehend criminals. Our soldiers are trained to destroy the enemies of this nation, not act as policemen of the world. If they fail in their mission, then you can kiss your habeas corpus rights goodbye.
We need to support our military and give them the tools they need to do their job successfully. Requiring them to prove that their enemies "violated some law and committed some crime" is ridiculous.
Our freedom is a model for others to follow, but that freedom doesn't come without a price. There are people in this world who desire nothing more than to take away our freedom, and the recent Supreme Court decision only plays into the hands of our enemies. We should support our troops instead of supporting decisions that tie their hands.
So I guess you think war crimes should be ignored?

Do you think this guy in the link ever saw combat?

What kind of a costume is that?

Is he a 4-star general?

What do all those medals and wings and stuff mean?

He has more medals than a Third World dictator
