Don't let them tell you that it is certain vehicles. It is all vehicles. I have experienced driving on that section in fine luxury German cars and local productions as well as trucks and mini vans. Every single vehicle gives you the same sensation, the sensation of a flat tire. It is embarrassing that this area has such poor quality expensive roads. What they should do is get somebody from the German Autobahn. They will show you how to construct a road and probably at half the cost. This is only typical corruption in New York State and lack of professional oversight that the taxpayers so desperately need. This will probably take longer to fix than it took to build the pyramids.
I have travelled roads from here to Florida in 7 different states and never experienced such shotty workmanship. And why is it taking so long to remedy this problem that everybody knew about it for years? Where is the oversight - the checks and balances?

What a smoke screen!

You shouldn't have to bring in outside "experts" from Michigan. With the amount of money you get YOU should be the experts!!!!

The best part about it is that you have 10 people doing a 5 person job and it takes twice as long to do it!

What a shame our wonderful "authority" did nothing until a news team brought the problem to them publicly. Another fine example of paying people who do not perform their jobs. While they are at it, maybe they can look into why there are always puddles of water on the 190S where they removed the tolls, bet those puddles were pretty iced over this morning.

Get some more guys out there to lean on shovels and make $40/hour. That'll fix it. Oh, but make sure there are 3 "workers" watching each person leaning on a shovel and at least one of them is eating a sandwich.

ALSO... KEN HANSEN, any roller coasters you have been on must have been lame as f*ck.

Now you're rasing a minimalistic issue that's going to cost tax payers even MORE money. Concrete repair isn't as simple as "slapping more concrete in the low areas"

IS THIS REALLY AN "ISSUE"? Or do you just want to get on the news to be a hero for the tax payers? lame.

AT MOST, it's a 15 second inconvience at 55mph.

You know the concrete work was done poorly, when they brought in grinders to smooth it down, immediately upon completing the work. That job was done poorly, should have been rejected by the inspectors, and made to re-do properly. Not just grind it down until it meets spec.

You're driving a vehicle, not performing skin grafts.
Roads are gonna be "bumpy"..... you're placing hardened concrete on soil that slowly shifts over time.
Concrete doesn't adapt to the changes in underlying soil like ashphalt does.
So the road is "bumpy", never did i think it was a problem and it never jarred loose any of my fillings... KEN HANSEN, get the sand out of your vagina!
Agreed, especially with your recommendations on the sand.........

Its still poor work though that shouldn't be accepted so easily by a paying customer.

I am sure tey stopped payment of the check .....RIGHT. I dont think so. That would have meant they needed to raise the tolls again.

Gosh another brain surgeon in the mix, nice comment you Doof, think before you type. I notified the T-way authority several years ago on this, being a professional trucker, carrying all sorts of loads this section of the T-way does jar the trailer and has loosened chains , the harmonic wave vibration which this section of roadway causes is dangerous to all vehicles and even more so in wet/snowy /icy conditions, if you notice the roadway spanning overpasses is smooth and the harmonic wave action halts only to begin again after the overpass. I spoke with a friend who was an engineer for the DOT and he said from the beginning they knew it was a bad pour (concrete) but let the work continue as the contractor promise to make good any problems, but I guess not. Personally on specific loads I have avoided this section entirely, a few more minutes of my time but a safer ride

The Thruway Authority should be dissolved since it is clearly underperforming and overpaid.
At the time of construction, the Authority boasted it was the largest capital project in the state that year.. perhaps too much for them to handle! The thruway assets should be placed under control for the NY DOT.

THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE...I BELIEVE THEY HAVE SOMEBODY AT NYS DOT WHO AT LEAST KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT SOMETHING (NO OFFENSE..I KNOW SEVERAL OF THEM AND THEY'RE GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO...), AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHY THAT'LL NEVER HAPPEN, BESIDES I THINK THE THRUWAY AUTHORITY APPOINTMENTS CAN ONLY BE UNDONE BY DEATH OR RETIREMENT.

its always easier to critize someone elses work, however you could look into anything and find reason to bicker. We all have a need to get from point A to B and the thruway is nessasary. So rather than being cranky about everything all day try to think of positive things about your ride; like spending time with family or a soon to come vacation.
Secondly this is Buffalo we have 4 seasons , the ground shifts and moves more here than most places, to put a solid slab of miles of concrete and exspect there to be no seems is crazy. I myself have felt these bumps on my motorcycle, I thought I had a flat it scared me; but its only a few minutes out of a very nice ride I took.
lastly if you want a truely nice ride get off the thruways and hit the backroads see some real life and breathe some real air, the thruway is for work and not enjoyment.

YOU KNOW WHAT "BILLY", YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT! JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A PIECE OF JUNK CAR THAT SHAKES ALL THE TIME, DOESN'T MEAN OTHER PEOPLE WITH NICE CARS SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE ROADS WE PAY TO DRIVE ON!
***TO KEN HANSEN THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BRINGING THIS ISSUE UP! I HAVE A 40 FOOT BOAT IN WHICH I ALWAYS TOW THIS STRETCH TO GET TO THE LAKE. IT MAKES THE RIDE A HORRIBLE ONE PUTTING EXTRA STRESS ON ALL THE VITAL COMPONENTS OF MY TRAILER. IT BOUNCES SO MUCH THAT I SLOW DOWN TO ALMOST 40 JUST SO NOTHING HAPPENS TO MY $200,000 BOAT ON SUCH A POORLY MADE ROAD!
