The reason i think SFX should have stayed open is , first, it is centerlly located amongst all the churchs in the Riverside, black rock area! Second, it is designed as a minor basilica, was the only German church, in buffalo, when buffalo was called black rock. It has a good school bldg. it is on 2 major bis lines, it has more than ample room for off street parking, and most of all, the church, and school bldg. are in excellent condition. Now they want to make it a museium for the chancery attics overflow.
you know, after all the church closings, you now have such a surplus of priest, and no churches for them to call home. And the churches that are still open, have there mass schueles down to a minium, there is no places for the priest of closed churches to a mass. This problim, should have been look at more closly. and most of all, allowed the parishioners to have more of a say in what the chancery was planning to do behind there closedGOLDEN GATES!!!!!

Whenever I drive past St. Barbara's, I just marvel at its beauty. This church stands as a monument of the mistakes made in the journey of faith & grace.

Growing up,weren't we told that God will provide and to trust Him? Why is it that our church leaders fail to heed that same advice? Do they in fact not trust that He will provide?

I TO BELIEVE IN MIRACLES AND PRAYER!

THE "DIOCESE" IN THE PROCESS OF CLOSING THE CHURCHES IN WNY HAVE CAUSED MORE HARM THAN GOOD.

YES THERE HAS BEEN A SHORTAGE OF PRIESTS, BUT NOW WE HAVE PRIESTS THAT HAVE NO ASSIGNMENTS AND COULD BE AND ASSET TO SEVERAL PARISHES WHO COULD BE DEEMED BORDERLINE FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER.

JUST LIKE SOME OTHER PEOPLE IN THE DIOCESE I AM HURT AND DISAPPOINTED AT THE PROCEDURE.... BUT
I AM FIRST AND FOREMOST A ROMAN CATHOLIC AND BELIEVE ..IN WHAT I HAVE BEEN TAUGHT.....

PRAYER AND PRAYER AND MOE PRAYER, BRING MIRACLES.

Hey, I signed that petition, but I used a fake name. What could people say when someone is pushing you to blindly sign something? The best way out is to just sign any name. There were people signing it who weren't catholic and who never seen or heard of the place.

TO BOB

SHAME ON YOU FOR SIGNING A FALSE NAME!!!
I AM SURE NO ONE FORCED YOU TO SIGN THE PETITION.

WE ARE COMMUNITY AND SUPPORTING ONE ANOTHER IS THE CHRISTIAN THING TO DO.

HOPEFULLY YOU WILL NEVER BE FACED WITH THE HEARTACHE AND PAIN THAT COMES WITH CLOSING A
PARISH.

NONE.

Let the Pope and their parishioners take care of the buildings and grounds.

They have money for lawsuit settlements.

I was raised Roman Catholic when I went to the Dioceses to get help for a pervert Priest. The dioceses told me it was my word against his. Like a priest would never lie all of us are capable of lying. And Father Bob lied to the Church when he said he never exposed himself to me. I denounced the Catholic Church after that. The Catholic Church should me that they don't care.

Those people are only beating a dead horse. St. Adalbert's is probably the best example of a parish that is a shell of its former existence. There just arent enough folks to justify keeping the doors open. What can you do? If I were Bob I would have signed Regina's name.

ST. ADALBERT'S IS NOT BEATING A DEAD HORSE!

The weekend of April12/13,2008 the parish received confimation from Cardinal Aronzi
in ROME THAT ST. ADALBERT WAS GRANTED THE STATUS OF BASILICA ON AUG. 7,1907 receiving all the sacred priviledges bestowed on the Rome basilicas.
The decree was issued by POPE PIUS X.
On Aug. 7,2008 the BASILICA will celebrate its
101st anniversary.

IS THIS NOT WORTH FIGHTING FOR?
How many other Basilicas are there in WNY?

If the diocese would recognize the spiritual graces bestowed on the parish the thought of closing would be nonexistant.
With the proper publicity given to the faithful of the diocese the BASILICA could shine as an
extraordinay house of worship and go on for many many more years.

YES WE AS A PARISH WILL CONTINUE TO PETITION ROME
AS IS OUR PRIVILEDGE. WE MAY BE A LITTLE WORSE
FOR WEAR ......BUT WE ARE NOT DEAD !!

PLEASE TAKE TO HEART THE FOLLOWING QUOTE BY POPE
BENEDICT XVI, SHORTLY AFTER HE BECAME OUR HOLY FATHER...

"WHAT HAS BEEN DEEMED SACRED SHOULD REMAIN SACRED"
ARE THE POWERS THAT BE LISTENING ?

For all those fighting to save St. Adalbert's - get over it. The bishop has spoken. He is your ultimate authority. Shame on you all for going against his decision. You should all be ex-communicated. You are not real Catholics. When your dump of a church closes for good, then what? Will you stop going to church? The only bright light in your ugly world is Sister Johnice. She is too good for you people. Just remeber, the decisions you make today will affect you in the after life. Make sure you all go to confession and tell the priest about the BIG SIN you are committing agianst god for trying to keep that toilet of a parish open!!!

Another thing, all you hangers on at St. Adalberts, you should get to St. John Kanty's and pray for your souls. As the good Lord teaches, the Bishop is the shepard and you are the sheep. Be good sheep and follow what the Bishop says. Final damnation awaits all who continue this folly of keeping a dead, ugly church open. All the other churches that have closed deserve to be open much more than St. Adalberts. God bless Sr. Johnice.

Who is committing the sin ?

Many in the parish St. Adalbert's are devoute Catholic and with the whole diocese to choose from why should they go to a church that they do not feel comfortable in?

Those with no sin cast the first stone !

A pox will come over the members of St. Aldalberts. The Lord will not allow these idiots to continue violating church orders. Something horrible will befall the members of this lousy parish. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
