This is what happens when you search for the "LOW" price, you get what you pay for.
At $225 for our 5 month season, that is a measely $45.00 a month.
Why do you think the reputable companies charge more ? They have insurance, newer equipment, backup vehicles and the list goes on.
Thoughts to ponder, when searching for a new snowplowing company next season.

I AGREE. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THE ECONOMIC
PROBLEMS WERE IN. YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR HOME WORK.
SAD BUT TRUE IT LIKE ANY THING ELSE. PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO DO THIS FOR YA. AN THAT FOR YA. BUT THE WAY I FEEL IS DONT PAY UNTIL THE JOB IS COMPLETE. THEY WANT YOU TO SIGN A CONTRACT. THATS ALL AN GOOD.
BUT PEOPLE TEND TO FOR GET BUT A 1.00$ BILL DOWN IS A BINDING CONTRACT. THEY PREY ON THE ELDERY. AN MONEY PEOPLE. PLEASE PROTECT YOUR SELF. THERE ALL OUT THERE. THANK-YOU. AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

As a snow plow contractor myself, I'm disgusted with this rip-off scheme. However, I hope the figure of $225 is not for the entire season.

Anyone paying that little and thinking someone is going to show up should really think hard before signing on the line. Double that figure and you've got what should be the going rate.

We have a landscape/snowplowing business out in Hamburg (Ben's Landscaping) and have been oporating for almost 16 years. We are members of the STBA, and Nurserymens Association. Make sure the company you choose to go with has the proper insurance, you have every right to ask to see their policy. If everyone would do this, we would be able to put an end to those who own a pickup truck and call themselves "landscapers" when in all reality they know nothing about the business. And most dont have a legal business in the first place. And those of us that go by the books suffer because people have a sour attitude towards contractors, because they have been "screwed over" by guys like this one here.

Al,

Could you please do a story on Bison Landscaping & Drainage, Mike Negley. I have tried to contact you in regards to the contract I have signed and paid for in full and unfortuately Mr. Negley has neglected to show.

If anyone else has hired Mr. Negley please post and complain to the BBB. I would like to have charges brought against him also.

I am one of those unfortunate ones who hired Mike Sieteski this winter, and was lucky enough to have him show up not once, but twice, in the month of December. Moreover, I received the "bonus feature": Two 3-foot-deep ditches carved into the earth at each side of the driveway (I believe Mike was going for early landscaping work, before the Spring thaw).

My neighbor and I did some sleuthing, and found out that this "gentleman" is currently living with his girlfriend, at 39 Lyndale, in Tonawanda 14223, where he still parks his snow-plow outfitted vehicle. Since he won't return phone messages, maybe he'll take house calls?

I hope the Amherst Police are aware of the Lyndale address, and they go and pick up the low life.
We paid for the entire season including snow shoveling, one of the few that offered it. My husband has a heart problem, and having a corner lot there is alot of sidewalk. Thank God for neighbors that have been snow blowing.
We actually had some service through Dec 31, last weekend someone showed up and did plow, when we confronted them they stated they did not know how to get in touch with Mike, that they were sub contracted to plow, however no one has showed up to shovel after Dec 21.
Maybe we should all go to his home and block him from coming or going.
I discovered that he operated a business under the name of Harmony with an address of Ponderosa in Williamsville, that phone # is still connected it is in the phone book.

One more comment, he did provide an insurance certifcate, that when we called the insurance is still in force. So just because they have insurance does not mean they are reputable.

Deborah,

Do you know what address and phone number on Ponderosa this Harmony business was at. He no longer lives on LYNDALE because I have a duplex across the street and I know he doesn't live there. His mother supposedly lived on Ponderosa and we would like to follow up. The police have issued 2 warrants for his arrest but they can't find him. I know for a fact as they contacted me today for info.

Thanks

Mike Sieteski is a dirtbag! He hasn't paid any child support either. And like the guy in the video said, he just doesn't show up for the court dates. I am familiar with this jerk and this isn't the first time he's broken the law. If you check into any business he's ever had you'll find repeated infractions. He is a lifelong criminal. I've even heard his father is in jail for embezzlement and murder. Put him away (after selling everything he owns for back child support).

That actually brings up a good point (and I am not being a wise @$$ child like jrs). What if someone gets hurt or worse has a heart attack and dies since they had to shovel their driveway because their hired snowplow guy never showed? Is there any legal action a person could tak? Could he be sued? If so, I don't think this clown really thought about all that.
