BUFFALO, N.Y. - It's taken years to get the wading pool up and running properly in Martin Luther King Park, and now it seems residents will have to wait a few more months.

I wouldn't let any of mine go to that park and especially near that filthy pool.

I was there watching the kids in that pool one year, and a couple of them were having a poop war which they must of let loose in the pool and were throwing it at each other already.

Dorian Gaskin is actually a stand up guy. He was in the buffalo news for the work he does in that neighborhood. I've actually met him a few times and have seen the work he does with training and job placement for ANY and ALL who come to his trade center on humboldt parkway. I have never met someone with a heart so big to help so many especially kids with no presents or clothing, and troubled youth with no direction no matter what color they are. I plowed snow for him on a few occasions and he always tried to pay double what I would charge. Like coach would say " you don't know him, you can't judge him". Keep up the good work Dorian !!!

If they really want that project finished, they should reduce further the minority participation so that the actual people that are building things can work instead of babysit.

Too bad Griffin wasn't still mayor. I would give up on that park thing and let it go to seed, just like the projects on Fillmore and Kensington.Buffalo started going down hill in 1955 and it hasn't stopped yet.

I was living on Humber Ave when those projects were being built.
It was safe to swim at the Kensington Pool in those days.

I remember that they built the Kensington Heights apts around 1959 and prior to that there were greenish, gray one story tarpaper barrack like places on what was called Veterans Drive built for WW2 vets.
