If you owe $3,000 in taxes then you should have paid more throughout the year, so it's no ones fault but your own. I am so tired of people complaining about their own faults. For those of you who pay someone else to do your tax return, you are complete morons when there is FREE software available to assist you in filing. For the knucklehead complaining about his return taking 6-8 weeks to process, I guarantee there is unreported income or a math error on it.
Hey, thanks for your wild assumptions! I'm so tired of people jumping to conclusions about facts they know nothing about. So I guess we are even!
The reason we owe on our taxes (for the first time in my life) is we moved to NY, got new jobs, and the taxes are incredibly different on what you can claim and not claim.

You just missed the Easter Bunny! Where do you think this "free" money comes from? It doesn't magically appear out of nowhere... The people that are concerned about this HAVE jobs, and are paying taxes.

Boggles the mind.
Despite all the good intentions seemingly spilling from the IRS, I get this numbing feeling there's another issue.
Learning 'who' hasn't bothered to file a tax return in the past several years and then call em in to find out why.
Something like one of them sting operations to get deadbeat dads with the offer of the free tv.

I don't think you are actually reading what people have posted. I don't care who gets what. And further more, how can you say "mind your own" business, when the taxes "We" pay are our business?

My only concern was just where the money is coming from to pay for these offices. I get the strange feeling people think there is a real life money tree somewhere. This is something I think all of our money could have been put to better use on.

I am grateful to be getting some money back, and I think it will do some good for some people.

I am one of those complaining about what others get!
I pay income taxes, property taxes, school taxes and sales taxes. I find it very frustrating that those of us who pay into the system on a regular basis are getting less money as a "rebate" than some people who paid NOTHING in and get assistance with everything from food to medical care to daycare!
I would gladly have Bush keep my $900.00 rather than see him paying for IRS offices to be open on Saturdays and giving away money to the folks that already drain this country dry.
This country cannot afford this rebate as it is and the additional expenses of the informational mailings and the IRS opening offices to make sure that people who did not have to file income taxes because they pay no income taxes and now want a "rebate" is ridiculous!

You do not need to be a smart guy to see that the government is messed up!
I need to get ready for work..I have many people who need food stamps, HEAP, welfare checks and now "rebate" money depending one me...
I am not in any of those categories, but ,I know some who are. You sound very sarcastic about saying how people are depending on you-let me tell you something, since you think you are so smart,If it were not for those folks who "need" those services, your smart a#$ would not have a "job" to go to,so I suggest you change the way you think. God makes sure what comes around goes around--Choose your words wisely! Do not belittle people because they find themselves in certain situations as you or your family may one day come upon hard times, too! YOU work for the PEOPLE-not yourself! I do realize that alot of these folks are taking advantage of the system but maybe if we had some "SMART" people working for the system ,these folks would be DENIED!! Peace, smarty!

Tom, I have the utmost sympathy for people who find themselves in bad situations and need short term assistance. These are the people that the programs were intended to help when put in place.
I do not have sympathy for people who have spent generations on welfare, produce numerous children they cannot support and feel they are entitled to receive funding from the government.
One last thing, I do not work for the "people", I am not a govt employee, I went to school and work to provide for me and my child. I am only responsible for my family. Perhaps if more people felt this way, the lines at the Rath building would be shorter.

Daily Horoscope for June 19

Sagittarius

Don't be surprised if a member of the family is unpredictable or does things on the spur of the moment today. There's nothing to worry about because they won't do anything too alarming or disruptive. In fact, their actions will be like a breath of fresh air and they may even help you to escape from a current rut. So don't hesitate to be that little bit different yourself, either.
