And rumor has it that he stole a pencil from a classmate in 3rd grade.

Who HASN'T tried drugs when they were young? As scary as it is, many people have tried, even abused for a short time....then they grow up and become responsible adults and parents.

Lets get over it, he obviously has.

i love how they waited until he became governor and the media THEN starts to throw out all these secerts they knew about him for years!

Who cares if he had an affair...

Who cares if he tried weed 30 years ago...

Is he sleeping with a hooker while on the taxpayers dime... NOPE... so just leave him alone already!

At least this guy comes out and is straight forward with telling the truth on his past PERSONAL life. Most people, espcially politicans would work hard to keep this quiet.

When will it stop just seems like one thing after another. Gee, then you wonder why we don't have more awarness for the children with regards to drug, booze and sex. Just keep our elected officials in office they sure will teach our kids. Apparently, their parents never taught them the meaning of "NO". There is no respect for individuals like that.

I agree to a certain extent.
The problem then becomes, where do we draw the line? How do you decide what is and what isn't a "forgiveable" offense?
Unfortunately, things like these could weigh heavily in future elections.

It is 2am. Do you know where your children are? I know where mine are. Mine are all tucked into bed. Taxpayers children are out on the street trying to sell dime bags and stealing from liquor stores because of his/her parents stupid "no means no" lecture. I am sure you don't know half of what goes on in your childrens lives.

My concern is now that he has been somewhat candid, the media is going to keep badgering him with more questions to try and make something juicy out of nothing, just so that they can get the scoop on the latest "headline." If he keeps his nose clean (no punn intended) while in office, and if he hasn't committed a crime prior to coming to office which he could still be charged for, THEN LEAVE HIS PERSONAL LIFE ALONE.

I think he should do the right thing and resign from office. He has not proved anything to me as why he would be good for new york anyhow. He definatly is not a roll model for rhe children in this state

Oh come on! EVERYBODY has done something in their past that Mom and Dad and Mary Alice Demler would not approve of. It's called being young and human. The thing is most of us grow up and change as we mature. Then we have children and realize what dummies we were. So what. The media needs to stop being a self riteous, nerdy entity. As long as no one was killed or the stupid behavior continues into adult hood AKA the cool mom and dad, leave it be. We need to protect our future not worry about the past.

I agree with just about everyone on here SO WHAT if he did drugs when was twenty or in his twenties. I did and dont anymore or havent in 28 years. I drank too and gee whiz i may have even went out with some one when my husband left me.So if hes not using our money for this stuff which he is not and hasnt done it for years. Stop with the witch hunt. Mr. Spitzer was using our money for his activities. (80 thousand or more dollars) worth. Was acting like most of did in the early 70's. And like several have said he was honest about it.SO GET OVER IT ALREADY and let the man do his job and we can judge if hes good as our governor or not. Enough said.
