The release wil probably kill the man.Becasue he probably wont knwo what to do on the outside. And he cant go back to being a Dr. Can he? So whsoe going to hire him? They probably kept him in prison as long as they did so he could not collect his Social security. Will he be able to collect it now? He probably sees life as being " sucked" out of him, so I would be surprised if he lived very long. Most people his age dont live long afterwards. Shame on the state for keeping him that long. It was probably too much pain medication, and then many Drs did not know the limits either. I am sure the Dr did not mean to kill his wife. He more than likely was trying to relief her of her pain. He probably did not wnat to kill her in the first place, because normally pain medication does not kill you, unless you take huge amounts.
I think mroe prisoners shoudl eb allwoed out. But I think Wardens feel their livelihood is jeopardized if they do.

I guess at 88 he still posed too much risk.....but now that hes 89, it is cheaper to kick him out what with the high costs of meds and healthcare....That must be one complicated formula
Risk < or = to healthcare + medicine/ crime. No wonder the state taxes are so high, it takes an MBA in accounting to work on the parole board.

Susan, why do you feel more prisoners should be released. That is a scary thought. Everyone is put on this earth as an equal, It's what you do with your life that makes you what you are. These prisoners chose a life of crime, Why should we be subject to them. Once a criminal always a criminal, Thats all they know. Do you think for one minute that they are changed? I think not. If they do release the prisoners, Send them off to war instead of our young men if their age permitts, The future of our Country giving their lives so our Country will remain free. Releasing the prisoners so they can go out and continue their life of crime in a Country where are young men are fighting for our freedom. Just think, We would not care if these prisoners were killed in battle. I commend the State for keeping this man behind bars, Just because he was a Doctor does not mean he is above the law. To take a life, He had three meals a day, TV,etc. I would love to read up on this man's story. I don't remember this happening back in 1976 but I am sure glad he was serving his time. Commit a crime, Serve your time.

The guy's on his deathbed. Cheaper to let the VA bury him since he has a free burial coming. Most inmates that are paroled and are veterans, start at the VA. This way they can get everything for free on the federal dollar. Besides, 50% of the parolees will end up back in prison. Most for a crime greater than the one they went in for in the first place. Be happy this guy's very old.

Wardens have no say in the matter byte parole board makes the decision and then orders the release with the governors approval.
