A note to Dawn Langenfeld: I'm so glad you and your son have this memory to cherish. It's so special to be that close to your son. As your son leaves home to enter the Air Force, I congratulate you on raising such a fine son. My husband and both sons were/are in the military and have a special bond in that shared experience, as will your son with the friends he makes in service. It will not be easy when your son goes into the military, and there are inherent dangers in his choice of careers, but it will also be one of the most rewarding and challenging decisions he will make in his lifetime. I commend you on raising a son who is mature enough to make that decision and be a better person by following through with it. I will remember you both in my prayers.

You are totally disgusting. I know you are ashamed of yourself. It's not easy being you.

What a wonderful young man. I can only hope to have a son that respects, loves, and adores me so much that he'd be willing to deal with people saying rude things like those two above. If only more children were as proud of their parents as this man is. Congratulations and the best of wishes as he joins the Air Force.

Hey Dem-
This kid is either one of two things:
A Geek who couldn't get a date (making him a momma's boy).
Or, someone looking for media attention.
Is mommy going to be his co-pilot in the air force???

You are ignorant and have no idea what respect means. I'd like to know what kind of mothers you have that raised someone like you that would make such ignorant comments. It sounds like you 2 are just jealous that this fine young man has a beautiful, respectable mother that has obviously done an impeccable job in raising her son. He is showing the utmost respect to his mother by giving her the opportunity to attend the prom with him since she was not able to attend her prom. I thank God for mothers like this woman, who taught her son life's most important lesson, "Treat others as you want to be treated, with respect and dignity".

Ignorant? "Respectable Woman", you don't even know me. Don't jump to conclusions. I was raised pretty damn good, and I do respect women, children, the elderly, and I do treat others as I would like to be treated. However, there are many more things to do to respect mothers. This isn't about respecting a mother. This is all about getting attention. C'mon people, this kid is a kiss ass looking for his 15 minutes of fame!!!!
Yeah, I'm jealous I couldn't take my mom to the prom. Are you kidding me?

I think it's wonderful. I have a son and I only hope that he would have the confidence to not care what people think and do what this young man has done. My heart with burst with pride to be in this mother's shoes! kudos!
