I am just as disgusted with our legislators for allowing such an alarming number of offenders in our CITY..without even distribution throughout the zip codes or county..It is totally unfair. Also Bill Assembly A4988 was enacted to prevent such disasters and the city of Niagara Falls is totally ignoring it. My neighborhood has 49 level 3 offenders.. our city officials DO NOT CARE..Delmonte was instrumental in signing the bill and has only 1 offender in Lewiston..you figure it out.

I KNOW of one in Youngstown that has never been arrested. Think how many are everywhere...that when they get turned in...no one listens....or those that cause so much fear..that they never get turned in. Trust me...they are everywhere, not just in Niagara Falls~

I realize they are everywhere but with a 100 to 1 ratio of those in our city it is adding unnecessary danger. You are right there are numerous unregistered offenders as well. But we dont have to intentionally intensify the danger. The records of some of these individuals are scary at best. The state has them in civil confinement and called them Mentally Unstable, not me. I just want the problem more distributed throughout the whole COUNTY. Not just the poorest of the cities. Assembly Bill A4988 is being ignored by the officials the Soc. Svc office and the probation office. I dont mind being corrected if I am misinterpreting Bill. Just give me some clarification. Unless I'm the only one that has read it.

It's nice to have the ideal society where there are no bad people living next door to you but this is the real world and it doesn't work that way. I'm not sure why sex offenders have been singled out for continuous punishment until they die, do you? I guess it's alright to have murderers and wife beaters and drug dealers in the neighborhood because why, they might kill you for doing the same thing to them as the child molesters? Well here's why it doesn't work - these people have to register and their crime is always out in the open. This means they are not going to get good jobs and they are not going to live in the nicer neighborhoods. They are going to go where people don't have the resources to make them go away.

When a person targets societies most vulnerable people... the judgement is HARSHER. Punishment is harsher..due to NOT picking on someone their OWN size~

When a sex offender does go after another adult... it is BAD...but children?
Even knowing that S.O's were probably abused themselves in childhood does not seem to make a difference to people..as NOT every child abuse victim ABUSES others.

Let us not forget that registered sex offenders are not in any way limited to child molesters - adult offenses too are included in the group. I still don't understand why one person can get probation and another can get 8 years in prison for virtually the same offense.

Probably number of offenses~ or number of peope that come forward as victims AFTER the arrest. Plus level of physical damage~

Everyone needs to get a grip. Almost everything known about sex offenders is that the ones committing new crimes are not on the sex offender list- of course there are exceptions to every rule. When you go to jail for lets say, manslaughter- you do your time, you do your probation then you can live wherever you want without anyone telling you where you can live, where you can go, ect...when you do your time, and you are done, You should be done. these local laws are illegal, and they are pre-empted by NY state law. If anyone decides to challege the laws, they will be found to be unconstitutional.

DelMonte should shut up. Sex abuse of children is rampant in NF. The penalties for destroying a child's mind are miniscule at best. As far as I'm concerned, it should be justifiable homicide to rid the world of such a twisted freak.

I know of one that went to court there with several continuations then the case was dismissed for not being tried in a timely manner. This fine upstanding citizen (read p.o.s. scumbag) is already a registered level 2 sex offender that should be a level 3. He lives in Niagara County and is a drug dealer, molester and thief that seems to slide thru the system. He knows how to pick his victims and gets away with it. This creep sells hydrocodone and oxycontin from several sources because he knows how to play the system by doctor shopping. Justice from the courts has been lacking for this cretin but hopefully someone will take care of business over him.

Once a predator always a predator. Have you deluded yourself into believing they give it up? A predator must have told you that bunk. They never quit, and they shouldn't even get a second chance to do it again. The first time they hurt a child, they should be locked away for life.

You are right, they are charming weasels in many cases that carefully pick and groom their victims into "our little secret". What they need is to be beaten to a bloody pulp and then paraded for everyone to see. Scumbags like that gain the confidence of the victim then take full advantage. The law does not fully take care of such creeps so they need extra "rehabilitation"

The one person as bad as a predator is a mother who knows a sick freak is molesting her children, but won't turn him in because she doesn't want him to leave her...ughhh! These mothers should be prosecuted also.

There's no reason on earth to allow a sick freak anywhere near children. That makes her as twisted as he is. Children can't protect themselves. That's a mother's job or any adult who can do something about it.

One can only hope you don't have children. You would be one of pitiful women who would believe they reform. THEY NEVER STOP and they don't want to go to jail because even the people in jail can't stomach them. If someone is telling you anything else, WISE UP!

Sex offenders deserve to be singled out and treated like the trash they are for the rest of their lives. They should never get out of jail. I've seen the damage they've done to children, and it leaves many children damaged for the rest of their lives, especially if they don't have a good support system. I still believe they should get the death penalty or life without parole. They will never be of any good use to anyone in the world, and they will always be looking to ruin innocent children. In my book, they are worse than murderers.
