I know a couple batavia sheriffs that are crooked as fukc.Some should be fired for abusing people. You need to keep that dehm on a leash before he cost your dept a law suit.

Back in the 80's I made friends with retired cop from a police department in the Mid-Atlantic region that was about the size of BPD with similar demographics. He would tell me stories about the "old days" when he would walk a beat and the sergeants would come to his post in the winter to check on him and they would feel his badge to make sure it was cold to prove he wasn't "bammered down" somewhere instead of walking around in the cold. He said he would befriend business owners on his beat and they would give him keys so he could go inside to get warm, drink, sleep, get some "trim" or whatever. He would always leave his badge on a window sill or in a freezer to make sure it was plenty cold when the sergeant came by. I am sure the sergeant knew what he was doing, but they still had to go through the motions

We used to exchange stories about cops we worked with who had melt downs and did crazy things. he would finish a story, lower and shake his head and say "Policemens is crazy"
He is dead now

In a small WNY city, many years ago, some cops walking the beat, checking business doors, if one would find an unlocked door, he would call a buddy to bring a car, load the trunk, then call it in later. They were caught in the act, by a sting set up, and fired. Later one of them ran an auto repair shop for years...

I fear a similar rampage could happen here. Someone close to me phoned me in tears again. Her sadist, control freak husband (with a badge), has her emotionally and financially strapped. She is a working mother of young children. He is rather high ranking, with $100,000+ salary, plus takes in $10,000 a month in side ventures. He forces her to pay for daycare while she works, and extremely high utility bills, this time of year, she has even had to borrow money from family members, to keep the pipes from freezing. He leaves for 'work' for days at a time, when he finally arrives home, he literally walks in one door, grabs his sports bag, and leaves out the other door, taking time only to chastise her for the way the house looks. He takes off for weeks at a time 'hunting' with buddies. Then he gets 'work' calls and has to leave immediately, for many hours at a time. Yes, he has been caught cheating on her many times. He is extremely frustrated, since he has learned that she is at least smart enough, to have a good lawyer on retainer. He is a power, control, ego freak. He has even been arrested at least 3 times in past years, engaging in max thrill adventures. He must spend thousands on lawyers to be able to keep his job. He knows he could lose it all, now...Scary situation. He knows all the local cops, they all think he's a great guy. I feel so helpless, all I can think of is this psycho going on rampage on all her family and friends...
