Police can no longer arrest without a County Deputy. Can no longer investigate ANY felony.
Aaron Walker can no longer work any FELONY.
So all they can do is be meter maids.
Judge Hanna banned the Police Dept. from his home because they hit a wall and never stopped, and of course no accident report.
Read the County Courier, they have the letter from Dallas County P.A. to aaron walker.

I have 5 kids, all driving age but 1. In one weeks time my one daughter was stopped 3 times (at night) for nothing. My son was stopped, vehicle searched and frisked! all because he had a cigar in the ashtray! Plus stopped 2 other times that week. The friend that was riding with him,(they were just going to mcdonalds to get something to eat) didn't think he would need his wallet so he left it at home, so he got harrassed for no id! Come on, don't they have something else to do?

Why is that? What happened that put the skids on them?

Actually the prosecutor changed his mind the next day after writing that the Buffalo Police could not make felony investigations and said they could again, even though he doesnot have the authority to do either. As for the Officers Buffalo canít compete with salaries and benefits offered by large cities like Bolivar or Springfield without raising our tax base astronomically, That takes a vote of the residents. So we generally have new Officers right out of the accademy working here.

IS that why they all got fired or quit after the Chief took over. As the County P.A. said all the good officers have quit or been fired.
So what is left is the want-to-be Cops. Apparently you have not talked to the P.A. Try sending a report there and watch how fast he sends it back to you. Oh I forgot the mayor is reviewing all your reports. Is that because the mayor wants to make sure his family is not in them. Or because the chief can't write a report himself so he has his daddy do it for him. If I was the Chief I would be ashamed that the Police Dept. was in the "shambles" it is in.

The Officers who were fired were not good officers and every officer on this dept has been to the academy, studied hard and done well, have you?
The mayor is in charge of the city by election and has a right to do as he sees fit for the good of the city, whether the officer's agree with it or not. As far as talking with the pa, yes we have talked to him, and this looks like it might be part of the "Buffalo politics" at play.

Is that why the bad officers were hired within two days of being fired. Or is it because the mayor sent them home after they stopped his step-daughter. NO POLITICS HERE.
I believe the P.A. knows more about reports, law etc. than you ever will. Why don't you get a job that pays more money, benefits oh I forgot you tried but no one would hire you.

small town politics or also known as <copatics> I was a small town officer for several years here in mo. I loved the work, but the benefits sucked. Write tix to build revenue, infact, i was told to write more tix or find another job. Theres lots more to policing than writtin tix. And silly as this may sound .i`m going back to the academy again. to get back in le. I miss it that much. been 20 or so years , but i`m retiring my present job soon,. so watch for me in a county near you lol.

Actually I chose Buffalo because I like the people, I have several jobs offered to me now. Also those Officers were hired because there is a shortage of manpower in Mo law enforcement, to bad!
But the issue here isn't if you or your friend were fired or not, the issue is can a prosecutor violate the law by blackmailing the chief of police of a city.

I have known 'Buffalo Police Officer' for almost 20 years and have been privileged to work with him for roughly 8 of those years. Of all the cops I have worked with in my 15 years in law enforcement, I have found two that I would trust my life to with no hesitation.'Buffalo Police Officer' is one of them.

I know small town politics can get nasty, but hopefully cooler heads will prevail. Be patient, as I believe the town of Buffalo has a good Police Chief in place who is trying to assemble a quality department. And I can vouch for how fortunate your community is to have 'Buffalo Police Officer' working for you.

As to why some officers leave a given department, sometimes it is lack of skills, sometimes it is politics, and sometimes it is just a bad fit. Usually it is the pay. Be thankful you have officers willing to do their job for the wages you are able to pay

You guys should get a clue, and not believe everything you read in the paper or hear on the streets. Let me guess, a majority of you are probably spending your hard earned welfare money sitting on your fat rear and typing what comes to mind. If you had half a brain, you would realize this is just another "jab" at the city, because the building inspector was doing his job and not let the PA's daughter move into her house when it was not completed. Do you think THAT has something to do with why the PA thinks up until then, no one could supposedly do the job? Have not had any problems prior! HMMMMM....

I wouldn't sign my name either if my command of the facts and law was so lacking. We must consider the people of buffalo and all give them our best. This is not a power struggle. It's about doing our jobs for the wonderful people of this community. They deserve better.

OK, I have heard the rumors, read the papers, ect.... What it comes down to is this: when you live in a small community such as ours everybody seems to know or claims to know everything about everyone. In times like this people go on the attack and yes, most have a story to tell about some form of unfairness. But the good thing about a small community is that in bad times we are always there for each other.
I think instead of bashing each other and being petty, we should work on a more constructive answer to the solution. I would hate to think I live in a county that spends their time wasting $'s and energy on something that should of never come to this. The law is the law, EVERYONE has to go by it. There should be no favorites, and if there is, it needs to stop. I think it's time to put personal feelings aside and fix the problem.
