I am quite sure that you will have very little knowledge or memeory of me. My Dad, Don Lewis, worked with Jim with the Minnesota Highway Patrol for many years prior to my fathers passing in 1968.
It saddens me to to have stumbled across Jims notice on a webpage as I was looking up Minnesota news and in locating it, I felt that I had to send my condolences.
It saddens me further that I had hoped to one day run into Mr Filzen and talk to him about the days when he and my father worked together. Especially now after I myself became a city police officer for Brooklyn Park minnesota.
I have been to Litchfield several times over the last few years as our daughter, met a young man from Litchfield and was married in a local Litchfield church.
I will always remember Mr Filzen as "Big Jim" as opposed to "Little Jim", Jim Riebel, and that he always had a big grin on his face and a very outgoing personality.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.
Dan Lewis, Buffalo Minnesota
