On Saturday May 19th, a man was killed on his motorcycle on FM2001 where the new construction for FM2001 is beginning. A dumptruck crossed into his right of way killing him instantly. Witnesses say that the motorcycle rider sped up to avoid the accident. As the slogan goes, "Motorcycles are everywhere".

Why would anyone even ride a motorcycle???? I just can't trust anyone else's driving enough. You virtually put your life in the hands of every other motorist you share the road with on a bike and people do to much multi-tasking crap these days behind the wheel. It's simply NOT SAFE.

Another accident occurred on Tuesday. A twenty one year old kid got killed on a motorcycle. I have two requests of my loved ones, no military, no motorcyles.

Why spend good money on a very expensive (motor cycle) toy just to feel macho (if a dead macho)and cause so much agony to family left behind to deal with horrible graphic memories. I agree to requests to family, no motorcycles and no military.

We were coming back today,May the 13th 09, and saw a dumptruck kill a guy on his motorcycle. He was already covered up. These trucks have no mercy for no one. Hope they charge this guy.

I work nearby and was at the shell station just after it happened. I was told by an off duty paramedic that had witnessed the accident what happened. They were at the light in front of Cabela's. They were lined up at the light, one car the motorcycle behind the car and then the dump truck behind the motorcycle. When the light turned green the car and the dump truck took off but the motorcycle never moved. The dump truck driver had pulled too close to the motorcycle the he could no longer see it and had forgot that it was there so when the light turned green the dump truck just went straight over him. There was no wreckless driving, nobody speeding, and no trying to avoid anything. It was just a horrible accident!

are you kidding me? how many people take of like bats out of hell when a light turns green? no matter where in line they are. Heavy foot on the gas plus ignorance equals death. I know the man who died. He was a close friend. Maybe people should be given a stress/patience test before they get a license to drive. To clear up confusion, he was not a "macho type" on a huge bike, he was a respecter of Earth on a freaking Vespa. A selfish tailgating jerk KILLED him!!!

The amount of 18 wheelers mixing with pedestrian traffic these days is getting out of hand. In fact in Buda right now the EDC is trying to allow a zoning change to let more trucks through that very same intersection. Crazy!
Check out savebuda.org , there could easily be more than 400 truck trips through there and an additional 400 through the main st intersection a day if this is allowed!

The accident that occured yesterday evening on FM 2001 going towards Niederwald was horrible. The motorcyclist did not speed up he had the right of way. The Red hauling truck or gravel truck had slowed down and we all slowed down practically to a stop then in an instant the truck driver decided to turn. The motorcyclist didn't even have a chance to react. When I saw the truck turning I yelled " What is he doing!!!" no one was in the vehicle with me. But I knew when that truck moved forward that was it for that motorcyclist. It happened so fast the motorcycle blew up and was on fire for awhile and the person was..... just horrible it was so sad. I never saw the truck driver even get near the body when he got of the truck he was using his cell phone and went to the front of his truck to see his damage. The truck was smoking. The people in front of me got off and the husband checked the motorcyclist but there was no hope for him. I pray for his family to be able to get beyound this because he was in a horrible state. The police got there quick. The fire truck a few minutes later, the ambulance way later. I had never witnessed something like this and never wish it on anyone. My condolenses to the family.

The accident that occured yesterday evening 11-05-10 on FM 2001 going towards Niederwald was horrible. I just wanted to add instead of name calling because we don't understand something, show respect for the family and friends of the deceased person. We don't know these people and it's sad to see that the compassion for people has become like a show and means nothing.
There should be stricter laws. Fm 2001 is a county and country road. It is not big enough for these type of vehicles. They go to fast on these roads that have narrow streets and sharp curves. There are areas that are hard to see when a car is coming or is stopped to make a turn. There has been so much death on this county rd since I moved out here in 1996 and alot of them were because of semi's or dump hauling trucks or just people not paying attention. SLOW DOWN TEXAS WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO? Again my condolence to the family.
