Mike is VERY nice on the phone, DO NOT BE FOOLED! He did not use a contract, did not verify services before supplying them, charged for services that weren’t provided or guaranteed, and did not return calls when we tried to contact him. Mike charged us $150 for bird removal; no birds were actually removed. Instead, he put some powder on a mop and brushed around the nesting spot telling us it was a deterrent. He told us that if we had any more problems with the birds nesting in our eaves to call him and he’d come out and take care of it since we had already paid for the service. The next day, the birds were back. Mike didn't respond to our calls for 2 weeks; when he finally did he said he would come out but never did. After another week of trying to contact him with no response, we have given up and are contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Mike was initially very responsive and eager to get our business. He came out the same day to clean out our rat-infested attic and block rat entry points. He agreed to address all of the concerns that were identified in the recent house inspection since the house was pending sale, and he spoke with our real estate agent about the details that needed to be addressed. He "worked" for about 3-4 hours, and then described how much he had accomplished in the attic, including finding the rats' entry point and blocking it. He said that the attic floor "might not be clean enough to eat off", but that it was "pretty clean". He said that he had found where the rats were coming in which was great "because you can't always find that", and stated he had blocked their entry site. He also claimed to address all of the concerns of the future buyer. Since we did not check the attic ourselves, we believed that he was telling the truth. We gave him our credit card number and he charged us nearly $500 for the work. Two days later, he called again stating that the charge had not gone through. I checked our account to confirm this, gave him my credit card number again, and he charged us again (but for a slightly different amount). A few days later, we went into the attic ourselves to find that the rodent mess had not been cleaned (in fact, rat feces dropped from the attic when the ceiling panel was removed), and that most holes had not been covered to block out rats. Even worse was that both credit card charges had gone through for a total of nearly $1000. We e-mailed him and called him about the double charges, and about the work that still needed to be finished, and he failed to respond. He was no longer answering his phone and was not answering our e-mails - even about charging us twice (for work that was never done in the first place!). We had to go to the credit card company regarding the double charge, and have to take him to small claims court for the rest of it. I called him again several weeks later, and his voicemail indicated that his business name is now Firewall Exterminators, instead of Firewall Pest Control.
