The deputy was going far to fast on a motor cycle. If a regular citizen would have been going that fast, the motor cycle riders family would be getting sued.

They shouldn't have gotten one dime!! The cop should have known better...if he would have obeyed the law, he wouldn't be dead today! This is a frivolous lawsuit!

to "friend of the family" :

That assertion is totally stupid!! I see you assign zero blame to the Deputy, who was not only speeding, it was WRECKLESS driving!! 90% of the blame is on him, PERIOD!!

Like friend of the family said, she had no license and shouldn't have been driving, she clearly wasn't looking when she pulled out.. Don't go pointing fingers there are many aspects and perspectives to this, not just one person was to "blame". Have a little respect for the family, you know so little.

she had no license and was driving (total disregard for the law) she ran the stop sign (total disregard for the law) and she killed a great guy who was on his way to help a friend, who was a credit to society and a father of 2 who would go out of his way to help anyone. Let him who has never exceeded the speed limit throw the first stone.

Yeah, they were both to blame but i tell you what that deputy didnt deseve to burn on his bike. Tell me you dont speed... any one of you? Every one does period! That girl wasnt suposed to be on the road period but she desided she needed to drive instead of walk and whether he was speeding or not he would have been at least seriously injured hitting her at 55 or 60....the speed limit on that road. I see to many good people die on bikes and this particular guy served our county in an honest fashion...not currupt like most. and the family deserved more than they will ever get because they lost a true hero...the whole county did. You are saying as long ass the wasted man driving shouldn't be punished or pay for killing the guy he hit or got hit by because they were speeding. I hold up a knife and step in front of you running down a hall stating no running on the walls and kill you....should i go to jail?? I would say yeah i would even though you ran into it. You can have your oppinion but unless you know all the details.....dont try to put your thoughts out there beccause you dont know what your talking you know what they say about assuming! Think before you speak!

All i know is he was a good man, and didn't deserve to die that way. But, none the less, he did. The family has a right to file, and whatever happens (or happened) is out of our hands. Either way, no one really wins.

Corey was a credit to the sheriff's office. Yes, he was speeding, which he knew he shouldn't do. But!, as others have said, WE ALL DO IT! If she hadn't been illegally driving, SHE wouldn't have been there, Thus, NO ACCIDENT, speeding or not! I have a need for speed, so do I deserve to die? Think about this, people: We aare all responsible for our actions. He was speeding, she was illegally driving. She will loose in court.

To motormanroy:

Not everyone has the same out look and take on things. Corey may have been credit to the sheriff's dept., but it was his job. He also treated people as if he was better than them. She my not of had the right to be on the road as you say, just an oversight on her part, that she FORGOT to renew her license. People in the committee raise lots of money for his family, then came the truth, HE WAS SPEEDING! She has been through enough and if Corey's family think that money will bring him back... GO FOR IT! Not sure what they are after, but sounds like money is what is all about!!!

You cant spit a motorcycle going that fast. A drivers license doesnt give you a right to go over 150mph. Thats just retarded in itself. The girl didnt know she was pulling out on a race track. You dont think shes a little messed up from this now youre doing what. Grow some balks get a job and quit trying to get easy money.

If speeding is not a violation of the law, then I would say the Driver of the Vehicle that approached the road was wrong. However, having no drivers license is not a bases to declare somebody guilty in this case. You have to look at the facts and decided if the driver was wrong while driving her vehicle. If one fact has been determined is that the Off duty deputy was speeding ( driving reckelesly/ speeding this is a violation of the rules of the road), then you need to consider the situation carefully. The driver of the vehicle approached the road and she had to guess the speed of incoming traffic. If a vehicle is speeding, be it a motorcycle or a car, this can be difficult to determined at a simple glance. She might have pulled out seing that the motorcycle was a good distance from her and if the speed of the deceased was too high, he would have reached the impact zone very fast. Sometimes two parties are wrong in an accident and there is no compensation that can make the situation any better. My ciondolence to,the family of the officer that died, and to the driver of the vehicle that he hit for the pain they are going through.
