Glad he's leaving, maybe people who break the law will actually get some jailtime now.

But I'm sure they will just hire someone stupid, if not worse than keadle. It IS buckhannon afterall.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Judge Keadle has done a great job while he has been here. I think you are someone who just watches for someones name to be put on here so you can trash them. It isn't only Buckhannon but Upshur County and Lewis County both. If you don't like it here why don't you leave?

How do judges get appointed? I didnt realize he picks his replacement. What credentials does a person need? I just hope its not a certain person on his staff.

I dont think he should be allowed to pick his replacement I think it should be voted in like every other office and I also think the people should have the choice to vote them out if they do a horrible job. Because the way it stands now whom ever becomes judge gets to stay there like keadle til they want to retire or until they die. And if they do a less than upstanding job then we are stuck with them until they see fit to leave.

Thats true. I think the clerk job was one that was also appointed and then when election time came the guy was voted in. And now we are stuck with certain people in office that arent good people but most voters dont know this and just vote the name they recognize without getting to know about the candidate. It's sad.

Apparently you don't pay any attention to the elections. Judges are voted in just like sheriffs, and other courthouse officials. They serve an eight year term. Judge Keadle has done such a good job that he has been reelected. He still has 4 more years on this term if he wanted. He has to be elected by Upshur County and Lewis County both. Learn your facts.

Yeah but if he retires before election year, a judge is appointed until the election right?

This is true but whomever gets the job only has it for 2 years (until the next election) then that person has to run for the office just like anyone else. He or she won't get the full four years left.
