I graduated in 2009 and just as it was then, buckhannon is a pit in which kids fall into drug abuse, teen pregnancy, or both. Although most of the guys and gals that I grew up with were at one time my friend, nowadays I couldn't care whether they lived or died. The town needs more activities or at least parents, teachers, and coaches that care enough to get them involved in something other than taking pills from mama's medicine cabinet. Ive seen it on the kids faces when i go back, especially in athletics, they have no drive, and no desire to better themselves. Content adults, make content children and it needs to be fixed. Maybe I'm delusional and there is no saving it, but hopefully one day I'll be proven wrong, and the town will be able to have something to be proud about, other than perfecting how to smoke a pill, and a football team that won states in 1826.

Its a wonderful place.

We got a new store in town with some bad azz weed.
Potpourri, bath salts and incense.
Life is all about getting high.

Don't go bashing this town.

Lots of good going on here.

Well I'm currently a student at Wvu for criminology, and on the wrestling team. Every time I come down I assist with the team there, making kids better, having them stay after practice to drill and improve, as well as talk to them and make sure they're not doing dumb things and ruining their potential not only as athletes, but also as young men. I know it's not much, but it's something

. I didn't know that a B-U alumni was on the wrestling team! What weight class do you wrestle?

Yeah, I wrestle 141lbs. But it kills me to see all the kids that have/had way more potential than myself waste all of it by making bad decisions or getting in with the wrong crowd

I agree, its really sad.

Soon meth and pills will be the new currency in this town.

Oh you need your tire changed, lolol gimmie a perc 30 and ill do it in about an hour.

And yeah the new generation of kids right now are super screwed, they have my generation as parents. Might as well call it the meth generation.

Kids runnign around in shitty diapers because their parents are dope sick. Nice job mom. They make it to school about 2-3 times per month, and the only education they get is from watchign their parents do drugs, or listening to them do drugs through the door.

If you don't like it here, then move. As for the drugs, I think you're gonna find that they are everywhere.

It doesn't matter where you raise your kids. It matter how you raise your kids. I raise my kids old school they have respect, manners, and thy work hard to get things. They know that things cost money and nothing is free. Yet i dont have to smack them their is other ways to punish kids. Alot of problems is kids raising kids.

Kids and their parents weigh way too much. They both need a good affordable place to workout that makes sense with today's busy schedules!

I think you will have to agree that the Middle School and the High School wrestlers are not makeing a lot of bad decisions. They might not get as much attention as the football team but they (both schools) have awesome records and dedication to their sport.
