I don't know who the cheerleading coach is but I am acquainted with people who have jobs like that. it is very hard to please the parents while trying to do your job. One thing you could do is volunteer to help. Its always easier to complain when you aren't the one in the position

well dear local i do know who the coach i have had dealings with her you dont treat kids the way she does especially ones who helped buckhannon win the punky classic a few yrs ago it seems to me that the kid in question is one of the best tumblers that has come to buckhannon in years

Well, then do something positive about it. Complain to the right person or persons. It will help. A lot parents had the same problem with a certain football coach and the joined together to get something done. Cheerleading is a great sport for girls and yes I call it a sport. Do something....Don't let someone you think is ruining the sport do it.

apparently you arent from buckhannon or havent been here for awhile its not how good you are its who you know the sports in buckhannon have complety disappeared because kids wont go out for cheerleading or football because theres really no use to when you have coaches like the bums cheerleading coach lets face it our high school football team dont even have enuff kids to make a jv team
so its really not only about cheerleading its about all sports

I'm really sorry things are that bad because any kind of activity outside of school will help kids stay in school. As I said I have known some really good choaches of all sports. You can tell the ones who really care though.

Cheerleading is definately a sport. Some colleges are even now giving some scholarships. If you ever watched the training these kids go thru you would agree. They train just as hard as anyother sport and harder than some. Most start at a young age with gymnastics and work with trainers on their own time. Its a shame if you do have a coach who cares more for who the person is than how good they are.

i do agree with local theres not alot for kids to do here so school activities are really important its really not all about winning losing but the kids who have really worked hard to get good at there respective sport doesnt deserve to be treated the way that this kid was apparently treated the grl in question who left the team had been a cherleader for her 6th 7th grade year is also an allstar cheerleader she was a good kid my daughter really likes her alot as a parent im really disappointed that stuff like this happens

First of all, I believe fred and michelle are the same person. Or if not, at least they sat beside each other in English class. Holy cow what a mess of words. The period button is on the bottom row, 2 keys to the right of the m. That being said, the solution is simple, take your kid home, or complain to the proper people, us gossip spreaders on this cheesy site ain't gonna do much to help you. Most kid's activities in today's society would be much better off, if the parents just got to watch on a big screen tv, in a remote location. Yea, I know, your kid is the best cheerleader there. She would be much better if the coach was better. First of all cheerleading is a prissy activity, overflowing with prissy mothers. You could search to the end of the earth and you couldn't find anyone that could please everyone's prissy ass. So I suggest you talk to the proper folks, and I would discourage you from using this site to vent. We are just going to kick your ass with each post.

its also common knowledge that the kid who left the team that were talking about isnt the only kid whoes quit the team it seems to me maybe the people who hires these individuals need to a lilmore research on these peoples character my daugher is not going to be told how terrible she is everyday how much she sucks by the bums cheerleading coach so im sure she will be the next one to leave then i will go to the school board like the other parents should be doing now

If you will take the time to go to Principal Renee Warner, she will listen to you & will advise you as to what the best procedure is to fix this.

You might also need to talk to the School Superintendent Scott Lampenien. He will listen.

Don't give up. Just keep working!

Please if you are going to post using multiple personalities, don't use the same lousy English with no punctuation. You also need to spread the time frame of your post out just a tad. Ah, the wonders of today's perfect child. It's always the teachers fault, or the coaches, or the preacher. NEVER the fact that maybe the kid just ain't the next Mary Lou Retton. Why wait til your kid quits and complain then? Your kid will be off the squad and no one will give a hoot. I just think you lack the back bone to complain to anyone, except us on this site.
Rah rah rah,
you are mean,
we can beat you,
go Valley Green. YYYYYAAAAAYYYY

PS, Mom helped me make that up!!!!

Buckhannon has always been a name game with sports. I know kids that love sports and won't even play now because they are not the coaches child or have the "name" that make them a so-called "someone" people should stop being so afraid of someone just because they have a certain last name. Why can't we try judging on talent and skill. Maybe then we can have some winning teams around here.

I will just say that most parents get offended with certain ways that people teach or coach. It seems everyone has an opinion on how those things should be done. If this coach is as bad as reported Mrs. Warner is very fair and would help out with a solution. Perhaps she can work out a meeting with the people involved. I would suggest waiting for a few weeks until the drama and silliness end after a few weeks of practices and games. I too share the opinion that cheeleaders are athletes and deserve as much guidance and awareness as any child that runs the risk of severe injuries as do cheeleaders. Coaches do not take into consideration "who" what your "childs" last neme is, they are concerned with winning.

The new middle school cheer coach is just doing her job. Parents need to step back and quit worrying whether their daughter is front and center and let her do her job. YOu cannot coach fairly and correctly when parents are constantly complaining. She will have a great squad regardless of who stays on the team. She is all about hard work and it will show in the end!!!!
